The hotel is a short walk to the village of Spich and the nearest train station. Cologne-Bonn Airport is only 9 km away, while Cologne Cathedral is 20 km from the establishment. Newly renovated, clean but beware of local part goers.

We found this hotel after a need for a place to rest for a few hours until our early morning flight. We arrived at the hotel about 11pm after booking our stay on Hotels.com. The staff at the desk was welcoming and did all he could to accommodate our family of 5. We booked a larger room only to find out they were fully booked and only had 2 single bed rooms available. Once we settled into our room for about 3 hours of sleep we felt comfortable. The rooms are newly renovated and clean. The location is not the best but it was a great option for a few hours stay near the airport. To our surprise at 3:45am when we prepared to check out, we heard lots of laughing and conversations. When we arrived to the lobby we witnessed a large group of people drinking and playing very, very loud music. Quite strange and inconsiderate at 3:45/4am in the morning.

I checked out this morning. I paid for one night of parking but came through as double charged on my bank account. Thankfully I noticed it right away I pointed it out to the receptionist who said wasn't her fault. Then to the duty supervisor who was very unfriendly and couldn't sort it out. After 3 hours I called the police in front ox the staff. Finally the hotel manager was called on the phone. He was equally unfriendly but when I told him that I showed 3 hours before the fact that on my bank statement I was double charged, he gave me a refund. Terrible terrible terrible experience. Would advise everyone to stay away from this.

Very disappointing

We have previously used the Holiday Inn Troisdorf for business stays, but this time we went to Troisdorf in a group business trip, we felt like the Holiday Inn hotel were incapable to provide proper service and quality due to inadequate and untrained staff. We checked in the afternoon after a long day business travel. Check in was very slow, time consuming and the male staff seemed very stressed and over worked. There were two persons present in the reception area, but only one serviced us, while the other were sitting and watching even though there were two terminals. Apart the incredibly long check in, 5 of us were given rooms which were not cleaned, which you would have expected as we booked the rooms well in advance and arrived in the evening. Again time spent going to the reception to get a new room, and it didn’t seem like the receptionist cared as he didn’t even give an apologies but “just” found another rooms. All 7 of us has experienced that the hotel key cards were deactivated every day on our 3 nights stays. When we informed the reception about this, they said it was due to the key card were stored close to the phones, which was not the case, and it happened every day for all 7 of us. The activation of the cards were again time consuming and again not apologies, which made us feel like we were the problem. We definitely expected a minimum of service and quality for the amount of money we paid for our visit at hotel. It was not the case and we are VERY disappointed with the level of service. Based on this lack of service we will not recommend any in our organization to book the Holiday Inn Troisdorf in the future.
