What's the weather like in Kefalonia in March?
Located in the Ionian Sea off the coast of western Greece, Kefalonia is a popular destination for a sun-drenched beach holiday. The island has a Mediterranean climate bringing long, hot summers and short, mild winters to its towns and resorts. In March, temperatures are rising and the amount of rain’s falling after the cooler, wetter period of the year. With eight hours of daily sunshine, this is a good month to visit if you want to go sightseeing across the island or hiking in the beautiful countryside.

In March, the average temperature’s 12ºC in Kefalonia, reaching a high of 14ºC in the warmest part of the afternoon. Although it can feel rather mild in the afternoon when the sun’s shining, you’ll need some warm layers for evenings out, as temperatures dip to a chilly 6ºC after dark. One in three days is forecast to have wet weather during March, although with a total of 45mm of rain expected over the course of month, showers are usually short-lived and won’t spoil your holiday. If you want to go swimming in the sea, the water measures a cool 15ºC this month.
