From the famous, and cheap, ombra wine to the finest grapes in the city, you’ll tour Venice from bar to bar, discovering more about the locals’ beloved liquor. Find out more about each type of wine, from rustic Raboso to bubbling prosecco and sweet dessert wine, while learning about the city’s traditional drinking culture and etiquette.
On your secret tour you’ll explore the narrow streets, visiting centuries-old bars and tiny drinks vendors while sampling the city’s best wine. Some guides will even take you from one side of the Grand Canal to the other, travelling by traghetto. Continuing on your tour, you’ll sip summery Verduzzo in small, darkened wine bars known as bacari, before sitting down in the traditional osteria to sample local food, including polenta, olives and marinated seafood, alongside carefully selected wine.
At the end of your three hour tour, you’ll have insider knowledge of the best places to drink in the city, including all of the hidden gems and local favourites.
