Island Inn
768 reviews
Island Inn is steps away from the sandy shoreline of Barbados' Carlisle Bay. The beach is one of the largest on the island, and has shallow waters that are safe for paddling and swimming. Staying here puts you in between the beach and town, and a lot of local shops are within walking distance. The island's capital of Bridgetown is a short drive away from the hotel. Originally built as a rum store, the hotel is part of the Historic Garrison Area of Barbados. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was designated a national treasure of Barbados. The hotel has stone walls, paved paths and floor-to-ceiling latticed windows, while the gardens and pool area are filled with flowers and plants. You can spend days at Island Inn enjoying some cocktails from the bar, which opens from morning until night, or dipping in and out of the pool. You can take advantage of the hotel's All Inclusive meals and enjoy local and Caribbean cuisine. Island Inn puts on music and entertainment three nights per week. There are a few bars and restaurants along the beachfront at Carlisle Bay. Here you can spend relaxing nights taking in the views and enjoying some local food or drinks.
A highlight of this part of Barbados is its tropical coastlines. Carlisle Bay is 1.5km away, and is particularly popular for its underwater marine park, where six shipwrecks provide a scuba diving experience. Dive here and you can see all sorts of sea life, including sea horses, rays, octopus and squid. To see the island's culture and history, head to Bridgetown, which is 3km from the hotel, to experience its mix of traditional and modern Bajan culture. You can shop in bustling markets and commercial stores. You can also visit local hotspot Baxter's Road to find British colonial-style architecture, friendly cafÈs and energetic bars after dark.
The hotel's restaurant provides a buffet breakfast. There are buffet and ‡ la carte options available for lunch and dinner, where you can enjoy local and international cuisine. There is also a barbecue evening every Wednesday. You can get drinks in between meals from the hotel bar.
Activities at Island Inn are centred around the sea, so you might like to go yachting, fishing or snorkelling. You can also swim with native turtles here.
The rooms at Island Inn have wooden furnishings, and each comes with air conditioning, a TV and coffee and tea making facilities.

Hidden Gem - A beautiful surprise
Island Inn exceeded all of my expectations. From the staff to the food and spacious and very clean accommodation my family and I had an amazing time. The staff was very accomodating with my 7 month baby and ensured that we were good for the duration of our stay. The food was amazing and Valery was so sweet and thoughtful. Highly recommend for a quick peaceful getaway or even a lengthy relaxing stay. We would have easily selected five stars however, if you are driving there isn't much space for cars to park. Otherwise amazing experience. Definitely value for money.
Perfectly personalised
On arrival, We couldn't have expected a more welcoming response. Our room was just as expected with perfectly working pair conditioning from the humid 30⁰ heat of outdoors and beautifully crafted towels and petals adorning he super King sized bed. We enjoyed such amazing cuisine throughput our 14 day stay. The hotel staff were amazing thanks to those we remember the names we will remember and those we (forgive us) just can't as there were too many that were brilliant. Especially Mrs Brown, The beautiful and wonderfully professional Elsie, Doris, Toria, handsome and always helpful Terry, Lamar and gorgeous Trey. You all made our holiday complete that make us want to return. The rooms were more than adequate albeit needing a little bit of TLC and upgrading however this would not make us undeterred to revisit. All in all, it was such a beautiful place I've no doubt we will join the many returners for another fantastic vacation. Missing you all so much as I feel you are all now a part of our extended family ❤❤
I LOVE THIS PLACE
This place is amazing! Rooms spacious and spotlessly clean. What makes this place special is the staff. They really make you feel welcome and are so friendly. Yes it could do with a link if paint. If you want faceless corporate hotels don't stay here! Also bear in mind only 3 star. Food best all inclusive I have had and plenty of it. Bar service excellent. Special call out to Elsie. But ALL staff need a huge thank you. We will be seeing you next year
