Butterfly Beach Hotel

Butterfly Beach Hotel is a beachfront hotel, a short walk from the resort of St Lawrence Gap, on the south coast of the Caribbean island of Barbados. The hotel, which expanded with a new west wing in 2018, has two swimming pools, one of which is reserved for adults, and a whirlpool. The pool area is surrounded by greenery, and palm trees are dotted around the grounds. It's a short stroll from the white sand beach, while the restaurant terrace is directly over the ocean. The smaller neighbouring beach of St Lawrence Bay is popular for snorkelling as the coral reef is close to shore. St Lawrence Gap is a short walk away and has a long stretch of bars and restaurants, many of which come alive in the evening with music and dancing. The larger town of Oistins is also within walking distance. This working fishing port features an informal dining experience called the Fish Fry on Friday evenings where you can select what you want to eat from a variety of vendors and have it grilled or fried for you on the spot. There are stalls selling local beer, as well as crafts, souvenirs and sometimes live bands and dancing.

Welches beach is 500m away and is known for its calm water and soft sand. A short stroll further on is Maxwell beach where the waves are bigger and suitable for boogie boards. The beaches, restaurants and nightlife of St Lawrence Gap are 900m away. The fishing port of Oistins is 1.4km away, and from here you can travel the 7.7km to the island's capital, Bridgetown, by bus. For those who fancy a round of golf, Barbados Golf Club is 3.6km away. At Mount Gay Rum Distillery, 5.8km away, you can find out how the famous local rum is made and try a taste.

You can enjoy a buffet breakfast with Continental and English options, including a choice of egg dishes, plus daily specialities such as pancakes, French toast or fish cakes. For lunch and dinner, the grill restaurant is a la carte. The restaurant bar is also open for drinks.

The hotel organises live entertainment three times a week and there's a fitness room for guests who like to work out on holiday.
