Such a disappointment!
We were so excited when we booked our first holiday together as a couple, we decided that we wanted to go to Turkey and the pink palace with one on our short list but booking last minute we were limited. Being the school holidays, we obviously paid a little bit more than normal, so you can imagine to our huge disappointment when we turned up at the Pink Palace to find a very, very basic hotel. The rooms were almost hostel like! On first impressions the reception area was dark and dingy, the staff were welcoming but couldn’t speak much English at all. I felt like crying when I walked into my hotel room, the beds were old and hard, the furniture dark and worn. No home comforts at all! However I will give it to the hotel that the rooms were very clean! The food… Out of all the 14 nights that we stayed we only enjoyed two nights worth of food, the rest was very basic and very cheap! The hotel has a Nick name between the locals and other restaurants as “The Chicken Palace” as that’s all the serve, lunch/snack was cheap chicken nuggets and chips EVERY DAY! The drinks also, very basic and very cheap if you’re looking for an all-inclusive option, do not choose one in Turkey unless you’re going for a five star hotel, the only alcohol I had on offer was vodka and gin and local wine, we weren’t even allowed a Fanta until 10 o’clock. This hotels only saving grace was it’s Pool, The pool was really nice, really clean, plenty of sunbeds. However, it was far too small for the amount of guests at the hotel. The first week was fine, the hotel was quite quiet but during the second week there is no way you’d be able to swim in the pool, only get in to cool down. There was also no entertainment at all, so if you want a lively holiday you would have to walk the 10 minutes into town every night to go to a bar, they did however put a belly dancer on one night, but you could barely hear the music as it was over showered by the motorway down into Olu Deniz that is next to the hotel. In summary, we ended up enjoying our holiday, we jumped in a taxi every day down to the beach and explored the surrounding areas, which we loved! I would come back to Hisaronu and Olu Deniz again, the people were amazing! The beaches stunning! But I definitely would not ever stay in the Pink Palace again or ever recommend it to anyone!!!! Unless you are looking for a cheap two star hotel, however the amount we paid for our first holiday as a couple would reflect more on a four star hotel. Such a Shame ☹️
AVOID.....
Well, where do I start.... We arrived at the hotel at 3am and were shown to our room, in the attic. My partner is 6'4" and was unable to stand at the toilet or in the living area as the roof was so low. The room had a double and single bed in one room and a single in the living area. The fridge was broken and the air conditioning was very poor along with the cleanliness of the bathroom and kitchen area. The next morning we were moved to another room but still no working air conditioning, No fresh towels or bedding for 3 days, until my partner took them down to them, in reception. The pool was very clean but there was a bolt sticking out of the floor where the pool steps had been removed and we had to keep warning guests about this due to my step daughter cutting her foot. They replaced them 6 days into our holiday as we complained to our rep. The food comprised of chicken, chicken or chicken with rice or plain paste (no sauce) and smothered in flies as there was no fly extractors. The manager in the restaurant was very nice along with the staff but they just kept taking away our plates and drinks before we had even finished and when you said something they didn't understand as they understood very little English. The Beer was very cloudy and when my partner complained they changed the whole system because the lines were dirty and broken but then there was no beer available the whole of the next day. He asked if they could have bottles as we had paid for all inclusive but they refused and said that we had to pay for them. The vodka tasted disgusting and the pepsi draft was also broken which then resulted in them using bottles that were kept in the fridge but due to the high turnover they never had a chance to chill before being used. The location was good as we were slightly away from the town but the road is very busy and dangerous with children. A taxi was just 50 Lira as it it just 5 minutes away. The wifi was constantly going off and there was no evening entertainment so you had to make your own or go into town. Would I ever stay here again.....Never! I am quite open when it comes to holiday accommodation but this is like something we have never experienced before.
Pleasant surprise
We have just arrived back from 10 days at the pink palace. To be honest I was dreading it due to reading some previous reviews but was pleasantly surprised.rooms were traditional and everything you needed such as hair dryer, fridge and small balcony, maid popped in everyday to empty bins. Pool lovely, plenty of sunbeds, never struggled to get a sunbed no matter what time went down to the pool.food no issues,a bit repetative but lovely and fresh especcially the xhicken kebabs freshly grilled,if you want to eat English food then this isn't the place for you as the only english food you will get are chips at snack time.Drinks in the all inclusive a bit limited but what they did serve was fine.Staff all lovely and very helpful and always on the go. End of the day you get what you pay for,if you want a all singing all dancing hotel then don't book, but if you want a nice cheap and cheerful hotel close to all amenities then give the pink palace a go,we loved every minute.Thankyou to all the staff for all you hard work.
