Would never come again
Can’t be more frustrated. Nobody speaks English and treat you like Absolute crap if they hear you. They just like to fob you off Food… food is the same every day and is not tasty at all. It’s like they just put anything down and people eat them. Entertainment… entertainment seems to be mostly for older people with the music ring so loud until 2am. If your English and you come To sit there everyone stares at you like Your an animal. Reception staff… don’t care about you or How you find The hotel. They just care about the German and other people who are from there. Location… location is 1 hour away from everything! From Lara beach, town, nice restaurants. Places next to the hotel are really expensive. Bedroom.. bedroom so outdated. No English tv channels. No IRON! No hairdryer
Can Royal Dragon still keep up with the other Stone Group Hotels?
I went to the Royal Dragon hotel in Everenski in end October till begin november with my family for a week of vacation. We used to come here often a while a go and decided we wanted to stay here again. On first sight nothing really change. When started checking in we mentioned that this was our fourth time staying here and the person behind the main desk gave us a room upgrade. Everything in the room looked fine and there was nothing really to complain about. We were quite surprised about how busy it was for the time we were there. Normally it’s not that busy during the October/November break. But probably because the COVID rules got reduced and traveling became easier more people decided to travel to Turkey. Compared to the other Stone group hotels in the neighbourhood the Royal Dragon hotel look rather old, and probably needs a little renovation in the upcoming years. Something that make it feel and look old are, for example a bad WiFi connection, except for some parts of the lobby (if your lucky) and the electronics in the hotel. Something that had changed a lot throughout the years is that the people that work in the hotel and especially in the restaurant ask the customers if you want to change the coin tip they get from guests in the hotel to paper money. Of course I can understand that the coin money is not great to have with you and that paper money would be better, but after a while we got asked so many times that it was getting quite annoying. Talking about good things in the hotel. The restaurant was looking amazing! Everything was in the right place and everything looked clean, that basically counts for the whole hotel, everything is getting cleaned well enough and is been taking good care of. After all we had a great stay at this hotel. But I think that if you went to the hotel a few years ago you would might have a better experience staying here.
Mostly good family holiday
We stayed late Oct into early Nov for 2 weeks. Our group consisted of 4 kids (3yrs to 15yrs old) and 2 adults. Our flight was pushed back and we eventually arrived at the hotel around 5am. There wasnt many others checking in so it was pretty fast and easy. A porter took the cases to our rooms which were on the ground floor after which he pretty rudely asked "give me something?" Obviously he wanted tipping but the way he said it left much to be desired. You arent told where to go for anything. You either look at the signs with arrows or ask but unless you speak German or the German guests can speak English you'll probably need to read the signs. Rooms: We didnt really have any expectations of how the sleeping arrangements would work. The rooms have a double and a single bed. Worked fine for us. More than enough room for each adult to have one child with them in the double and the other child in the single. The beds however are rock hard. Literally no give in them at all. Plenty of space for clothes to be hung or in drawers and a mini fridge stocked and topped up daily with 7up, pepsi, water and beer for free. The rooms are very dark though. Theres no "main light" just a few lamp type lights. The a/c was very hit or miss. More miss though. When it worked it worked great. Luckily we werent there in the height of summer as id bet that would be horrendous if the a/c worked like it did with us. Shower is lovely and powerful and bathroom is a good size. As stated above about lighting, the whole hotel seems very dark which i get is the vibe they are going for but it made the stair cases to the lower floors sometimes dangerous due to such low lighting. Brighter lights especially around stairs should be looked into by the hotel. Food: There was always something for everyone in our party to eat and theres some serious fussy eaters. It did mean they ate the same thing a few days running though which did get boring. There seemed to be an overwhelming choice of food but when broken down was actually very "samey" and not much variety. Deserts looked fantastic but the taste didnt match the look most times. There were a few exceptions. Food at the pool snack area wasnt great tbh. Very much repeated, not much choice and kind of chewy/dried out when it came to any meat. Baked potatoes tasted ok but you couldnt eat much of it as most of the inside was hard. Also no toppings. Drinks were ok if you like a lot of fizzy drinks and juice. There were slushy machines too (more on that) You can use the royal taj hotel next door snack bar and pools too Pools: The main pool is freezing. Proper freezing. The sea is warmer. Pools however seemed clean and the area around the pools always spotlessly clean. More than enough sunbeds especially into the 2nd week when the hotel emptied quite a lot. The indoor pool opened while we were there which is lovely and warm and very big. Again lighting is VERY dark in there especially after coming in from the bright sunlight. Not really safe to be so dark. Also this pool didnt appear to be as clean. Lots of debris seen floating around in the underwater pool lights. The water park next door was fully open the 1st week and started closing some slides by the 2nd week. Access to this was by an underground walkway. Kids loved it but there didnt appear to be any rules and kids were walking up slides and then complaining when getting knocked down by a child coming down. Again pools freezing. Beach: lovely beach. Very clean and the staff constantly clearing up cups and rubbish, empyting bins etc. Cant fault anything in that respect. Water super clear and very warm for this time of year. Theres also a handy little bar for drinks on the beach. Back to an earlier point, at the slushy machine at the taj hotel we noticed black mould in the spout part. This was the day after our 3yr old was violently sick all night and we went looking for any potential sources so the other kids didnt end up the same way. That machine was shut down and taken away completely so maybe others had the same problem. However 2 days later myself went down with terrible vomiting/diarreah. I hadnt had any of the slushies so that wasnt the cause for me. I was so bad we had to call the hotel dr out at 1am. He subsequently told me he was sending me to the hospital to be put on IV drip. Ended up at a nice private hospital about 15mins drive from the hotel. They were testing for likely food poisoning causes. The next day the other adult in our party started going downhill with the same. Then 4 days later on the last night one of the other kids started vomiting. This was caused by food poisoning. We also saw another guest vomiting into the foot cleaning tap area just inside the hotel by the security gate. Clearly we werent the only guests affected. The hotel seriously needs to look at its food hygiene standards and cleanliness in the restaurants. 4 people in one party suffering from food poisoning when all 4 ate very different foods from each other is NOT to be expected or acceptable in a 5* hotel. Please do better in this area as the rest of the holiday was great
