end of season holiday
1st room we didnt accept as it was in basement with awful smell, the lovely desk manager sorted us out into 311 next morning. the room itself is kept clean by the wonderful Enver and Iltay. clean towels etc, and mopped and brushed every day. we never did see the "male" bellydancer, but its seemingly all the rage, lol. we stayed mostly at top pool as it was closer to our room, the main pool was surrounded by english that get up crack of dawn to stake their claims on all the sunbeds....bizarre. we dont really drink much so never went to main bar but did look at prices, the top bar was more expensive than bottom bar and i kind of got feeling they charged what they felt like. my husband and i have stayed there a few times as it is slightly further out of gumbet so quieter, and the fab dolmus stops outside, hint for anyone using dolmus buy the bus pass at bus station, it is like having access all areas pass.
Best located room in the hotel!
We arrived at the hotel reception to very friendly staff who carried our bags up 3 flights of stairs to our room. We were lucky enough to be given a bungalow beside the top pool. I would highly recommend these rooms for their location. The room itself was basic. We had to ask for another plate and cup as there was only 1 of each and 2 of us staying in the room. The toastie maker gave us an electric shock every time we used it but was soon changed when we complained. The bathroom was not very clean on arrival so we cleaned it ourselves. We needed to run the shower every morning to get rid of the bad drain smell too. But the smell seems to be common place in Gumbet. The beds were quite uncomfortable so we flipped our mattresses which seemed to help a bit. There are stray cats that frequent the hotel and one came into our room leaving dirty footprints on my bed sheet. This sheet was not changed the whole 10 days we were there. The cleaner just folded the dirty sheet up neatly and placed it back on my bed. The area around the pool was clean and there were adequate sun beds. The view was amazing. The rep persuaded us to book 2 excursions. 1 to the market and 1 to Pamukkale. I would advise against either of these organised trips. Going to the market by taxi is cheaper and you don't have to go to the gold Market where they try to get you to buy gold. Pamukkale took 6 hours on the coach to get there only allowing 2 and 3 quarter hours at the actual attraction. Not enough time to do everything. Again they take you to an onxy factory to try and get you to buy something. When booking the trips we were not told about going to the onxy factory or the gold market. We were also told the trip to pamukkale would only take 3 hours. It is cheaper to book a taxi for trips and you don't have to face pressure selling if you don't want to. The staff were friendly and welcoming and most spoke very good English. The food at the bar was very tasty and good value for money. The beach outside the hotel was very stoney and definitely not sand. Take a short taxi ride into bodrum for a nicer beach. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the siesta beach and would recommend it for a budget holiday. Don't forget to ask for rooms 401-404. Definitely the best rooms in the hotel.
Perfect
Me and friends have just returned from the siesta beach. I read the bad reviews on this hotel and I can safely say they all lies. The rooms was cleaned and tidy every day. Not many stairs. The staff was fantastic. I leave my air buds by the pool. The staff found them and handed them in and my mate dropped his wallet and staff handed it in with no money missing. If looking at this hotel trust me book it. Its very nice and good vibe and great location. I will be going back to this hotel
