Perfect choice of hotel in Dublin City

May 2022 | ellen t

The Samuel Hotel is situated in a perfect location with the luas stop right outside the door to take you into the city centre and the 3arena and Bord Gais Theater only a few minutes walk away. Rooms are spotless with delux 8pillows and beds, well appointed bathroom with a great shower and unendless supply of hot water. Food is excellent and generous portions would highly recommend the King Pao Chicken Wings and the Fettuccine Alfredo. Excellent customers service from front of house, to restraunt and housekeeping, nothing too much trouble for the employees to make your stay in the hotel perfect. Everything you could ask for in the heart of the city at a reasonable price and value for money. Can not recommend this hotel enough, we will be returning.

Awful experience at this hotel

May 2022 | JayFiver

My experience with this hotel was extremely poor. I stayed for two nights and there were so many issues that need addressed. Upon arrival, the reception made a request for a security deposit regardless of the booking being put through on I also queried a late checkout and was notified that they couldn’t offer this there and then and that I should ring down to reception on the day of checkout. The reception never answered the phone once during my whole trip. The hotel is still under construction and it felt like I was having a sleepover on a building site. Outside the hotel window had construction workers who were drilling and making continuous noise. Half of the access points to the hotel were restricted due to this construction. I personally couldn’t relax and being woken up to the sound of concrete being drilled wasn’t a highlight. The room was stuffy and having the window open exacerbated the smell and noise. The air conditioning wasn’t sufficient and the window being open was essential. The rooms are probably the smallest I have ever stayed in and the bathroom was a bit of a squeeze. I feel sorry for the cleaners having to deal with the daily bathroom cleanups, as toilet brushes don’t exist in this hotel. The one thing that I cannot fault was the staff in the restaurant, the girls and manager were very helpful and friendly. I felt like this was the part of the hotel they got right but the food was very basic. A limited menu with bland dishes. Overall not a great experience and it may have been appropriate to disclose the fact the hotel has a building site on its doorstep. Ridiculous to be charging customers these prices and subject them to all of the above. Spend your money elsewhere and save the headaches.

This was our first time in The Samuel Hotel, it is a very nice, clean and modern establishment very nicely located, near Dublin centre close to the 3 arena tram outside door, very quiet room. Menu could do with being extended include more choices, but overall a very plesent stay in one of Dublin newest hotels. Staff were excellent but I'd particularly like to highlight the service given by Helen and Danielle (not sure if i spelled his name correct) was exceptional.
