Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius is a luxury hotel with a beachfront location in Turtle Bay on the northwest coast of Mauritius. The hotel is surrounded by countryside and set in tropical gardens that run down to the white-sand beach. The city of Port Louis is a short drive away down the coast if you'd like a day of shopping and exploring. At Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius there's an outdoor infinity pool and a whirlpool surrounded by a sun terrace where you can sit back and relax. There's also an indoor pool. Whether you're on the beach or by the pool, you can make use of the waiter service for drinks throughout the day. The hotel has two bars and six restaurants. The main restaurant offers buffet meals and the other five are a la carte. Four of the restaurants have outdoor seating. If you're hungry in the afternoon, cake, snacks and ice cream are available. Highly applaud the staff's excellent sense of customer service, their dexterity and patience in assisting customers!
Your stay turns into an epicurean experience right from the entrance, whereby you are greeted by pleasant and courteous security staff, irrespective of the car brand you are into and how you are dressed. As a customer service professional, I am very sensitive to customer service levels wherever I go, and the level and quality of service I experienced were simply outstanding. Over the years, the service has improved a lot, starting from the Front Office and Reception. A big thanks to, but not limited to, Ratee, Yaasin, Manoj, Sanjiv, Tina, Kishan, and Mr Sanjeev Mohadeb, the Room Division Manager. The whole team went the extra mile to provide my dad with a more appropriate room for him, given his health concerns. The rooms were clean and neat, and the housekeeping team did a marvelous job of keeping our rooms tidy and making our stay comfortable. World-class service and food at the Belle Vue Restaurant. A big thanks to Executive Chef Afsar, who is humble, professional, and friendly. I would also like to thank Chef Ramful and the Pastry Chef who, despite my last-minute request, prepared a lovely gourmet birthday cake for my wife. My dad had special needs due to his health conditions, and the Belle Vue Team went the extra mile to make him comfortable despite the hotel being packed and full. Also, special thanks to the Belle Vue Restaurant Outlet's brigade, starting with Mr Ganesh and Mr Thannen, who always cater and care for every guest and treat us as family, not clients. Thank you also to Mr Deven (the bar manager), Mr Avinash, Ms Shivani, Mrs Ansuya, Mrs Vimla, Ms Emika, Doorgesh, Hemlata and all the staff at Belle Vue Restaurant—a big thank you to Varun, Barman at Anno who always prepares lovely cocktails. I noticed some bad reviews from some clients on Trip Advisor, and I just wanted to say to future guests: Maritim is a big hotel and it is the only hotel in Mauritius that hosts big music festivals whereby international DJs come to perform. Often the number of guests checking in and checking out concurrently is not an easy job to handle. Some hiccups may happen, be it, In terms of service, turnaround time, food, and rooms. When you have any issues, please ask to speak to the supervisors or managers; they will always do their best to remediate any of the shortcomings mentioned earlier. Looking forward to my next visit. :)
Below average hotel, food terrible
I'll start with the good, the hotel is lovely, rooms are spacious, the staff are great, snorkeling from the beach is great if you go a bit further out, the drinks are good, hefty measures. Grounds are lovely and well kept. Always sun beds available by the pool ,le banyan restaurant was good The bad, food was awful, buffet was repetitive, chicken and fish, curried options, lots of flies on the food. Cooked breakfast was appalling, we just stuck to fruit and pastries. Big queue for omlett every day. Orange juice usually all gone. Guy cooking the chicken was using the same tongs to put raw chicken on the grill then put cooked chicken on your plate. Not good. Cold cups of tea and coffee at breakfast. Pool had loads of tiles missing, looked tired. La maree restaurant was dire, buffet but even less choices than the main buffet. Couldn't get a booking at any of the restaurant that you had to pay extra for. Had a cyclone while we were there, fortunately we weren't that affected by it, but zero info or advice given from the hotel. Room cleaning was rubbish, didn't change the sheets or pillow cases once during a 2 week stay. No toiletry refills given either. Would definitely not return here.
