Amazing Food

Jan 2022 | Vadomai
We stayed for the first half of our holidays with the family in this hotel, and it has its advantages and disadvantages. First let me tell you about the food, that was the best gastronomy experience ever, we stayed in many hotel and in couple more hotel in Mauritius, and nowhere we found such a beautiful food not only in the restaurant but buffet was even better every time, the breakfast were magical. I believe the food and the drinks was the best part of the stay. The hotel itself was a bit outdated. The biggest misunderstanding was the main bar. Sorry to say but probably the ugliest part of the whole hotel was made as a center of entertaining. People coming to the island wanna see and enjoy the ocean, but all the restaurant facing the beach closes at 9or10pm, and only main bar (with the nice music tbh) becomes the center for the evening. especially once the hotel has such a beautiful restaurant and bars, was very pity to come back to this dark and a bit depressive area to continue the night. The service was absolutely fantastic, as later on our holidays we went to another hotel, that suppose to be more upscale, let me tell you the service was not even close to this. Amazing people, making you stay as comfortable as possible.

A gorgeous stay

We had a truly wonderful stay at Constance. All the staff went above and beyond to make it a very relaxed and enjoyable holiday. We had a severe peanut allergy in our group and after an initial hiccup they couldn’t have been better at making sure she was comfortable with her food. Personally overseen by the head chef. The golf was our favourite past time. The staff at the Legend and the Links were all very attentive and the courses were fabulously maintained. The villa was perfect for our family where we were very well looked after by the housekeeping team. We loved our breakfasts at La Spiaggia, our in villa barbeques and especially the sushi from Indigo. We would love to return very soon!

Iffy start, strong finish.

My wife and I stayed here in December for the second half of our trip to Mauritius. We initially had a few issues with our room which included a fairly significant leak. This was raised with reception and we were quickly introduced to the hotels general manager. The issue was swiftly resolved and we were upgraded to a junior suite. We don’t have children so appreciated being moved to the quieter side, as the original room was a stones throw from the kids club, children’s pool etc. Being candid my one consistent niggle with the hotel is the quality of the rooms. Even the junior suite felt dated and in need of a refresh. Putting the above to one side, we had a really great stay. Firstly the food. Wow! Christmas Eve was ridiculously good. There was lobster, fillet steak, king crab, oysters, scallops, frogs legs, snails, you name it! I’d say the food was consistently good throughout our trip with plenty to choose from. We booked a meal at the Blue Penny as they had a guest chef. It was expensive but worth it, and we were even greeted by the hotels manager to check in on us following the room move. That’s 5 star service! We ate in all of the restaurants but both agreed that the buffet was actually our favourite, aside from the Blue Penny- which you’d typically never expect! It was just great and inline with a 5 star hotel we visited in the Maldives. The drinks are also really well made and the cocktail menu is plentiful. There are some good non alcoholic choices too. The gym was good. Plenty of machines and the guy managing it is a really nice chap. The beach is lovely with its typical Indian Ocean colours, but if you don’t like the beach there are plenty of pools. One final thing to mention is the hotel entertainment. I hate cheesy hotel entertainment however loved the bands that played here. Really talented! There’s probably more to cover but I’ll summarise by saying.. Things didn’t start overly well however we quickly forgot about any initial issues. The hotel overall is a 5 star but I do feel the rooms need a refresh. I can’t score it less than top marks as we had a great trip.
