Location
Some ups and (too many) downs
Hotel located in a quiet location, close to one of top Budapest spots. Rooms are cleaned on demand, but mine was not, despite the cleaning card exposed, and bed lines were NOT changed, also when asking for it at the reception. Found also a pair of socks left by someone before my arrival. Avg breakfast (with some space for improvement about number of products available). What to say...hope management style will change in the future..
Mamaison Andrassy, a great place to stay and relax after a day on one's feet sightseeing!
My first visit to Budapest in 50 years. MaMaison Andrassy was everything we wanted in our stay in Budapest - clean, quiet, well-run, no problems in communicating in English with the staff, and excellent breakfasts. Very handy to the Metro (Bajza stop). We stayed for a week in August before travelling around Hungary for 2 weeks. We had a booking somewhere else in Budapest for our middle week in Hungary but changed it to Andrassy as we liked it so much. The only negative comment was sometimes housekeeping was incomplete (eg, coffee capsules not topped up for the next day). Very minor!
Would stay again
We were very happy with our recent stay. We were disappointed with the size of the room- we were under the impression we would be in a much bigger space, but this would be down to misleading information from our tour operator not the hotel! The room was comfy, pillows lush, well heated, and clean. Toiletries provided on arrival, and topped up when requested. Were given towels to take to thermal baths with us when booking the trip at reception. Kettle, iron and ironing board bought to us on request- as other reviews stipulate; tea/coffee etc is not free, and purchasable via mini bar. We paid roughly £5 for two bottles of mineral water from the fridge on our first night, so refrained from using anything else. Reception staff were super friendly and helpful. Particularly helpful was the young, dark haired guy on reception- I’m so sorry I’ve forgotten his name! We had breakfast with our stay- which was surprisingly really good. We went with low expectations after reading reviews, but were pleasantly surprised! Plenty of choice, hot food of boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, frankfurter type sausage, and beans and hash browns. Cold cheeses and meats with salad. Muffins, cheesecake, croissants, yoghurts, fruit, jams and cereals. We found the weekend mornings the waiting staff were fab, 2 young gentlemen, constantly topping up the food, being very proactive, no need to ask. The Monday morning where there were two young women, we found most things were running out, croissants, water, juice, hot food- and we had to keep asking for top ups. Unsure whether this is representative of the staffing, or the hotels expectations on the days mentioned. Location is fab- few minutes walk to heroes square, thermal baths and city park. Around £5gbp for a taxi to river, or plenty public transport options
