This city hotel is located in the heart of the city, just 50 meters from the famous Váci street with many shops and restaurants. A metro station which provides a great link to explore the city can be found within a short walking distance from the hotel. Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport is within easy reach, 30 minutes by car. The hotel has 80 modern Budapest style and well-equipped rooms, fitted with air-conditioning and heating, restrooms with shower, and many other amenities. Some of them come with panoramic views of the Danube and the Buda Castle. At the onsite restaurant, guests can enjoy traditional Hungarian flavours and the noble juices of the Hungarian wine-growing regions.

In my opinion, and this is just my opinion Apart from the excellent location of the place it is really hard to recommend it mainly because there is no hot water and at the reception they say that it takes time for the hot water to arrive. The entrance to the place does not look at all like an entrance to a hotel but to a room complex

Great base for exploring

I feel like 3* is a harsh review as the location is ideal for exploring all of the sights Budapest has to offer and the friendliness of the staff was 5* but the hotel is basic. We stayed for 4 nights with no cleaning service. If you want fresh towels during your stay this will cost €5 or 2000 HUF per towel. Our shower flooded our bathroom and we had to use towels to mop up the water which left us with soaking wet towels for the duration of our stay, not a major problem but would have been nice to have had these towels refreshed. We didn’t complain about this to the front desk as although all the staff we encountered were lovely they were very slow and we didn’t want to waste time complaining when there was so much to see. The bed was made up as a double but we were provided with 2 single duvets which takes away a bit of the romance, although may be to others liking. Rooms are provided with mini fridges for your own use, ours unfortunately was not cold enough to chill our drinks. Hairdryers are available to borrow from reception free of charge. You can also book your airport taxi at reception for 12500 HUF set rate payable to the driver at drop off. City tax is payable locally, you can pay on card, if not I would recommend having change available. For 4 nights our tax was €3.79. (All prices quoted from 22nd October) Some tips: There is an electric scooter/ bike hire parking bay located right on the hotel doorstep, these are a great way to get about the city. Stop number 13 on the Hop on Hop off bus service is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Another great way to get about the city and get your bearings. With any ticket you get a boat tour included, if you use this for the 6pm service you will get both sunset and evening views of the city from the River Danube. This sails from dock 6 which is also a 5 minute walk from the hotel. If you’re going to the Szechenyi thermal baths pack a towel and flip flops. You can hire these at the baths but it’ll set you back 9900 HUF. Flip flops alone are 3900 HUF per pair and you are required to wear them in order to enter the baths. You can rent a towel from this hotel for 2000 HUF charge plus a refundable 6000 HUF deposit but if you have space in your case just pack one!

We checked into the hotel after a delayed flight, arriving at 4am. Before we travelled we had contacted the hotel who told us not to worry, the reception is 24/7. When we arrived we were told to go and sit down and wait because we have arrived so late in the night the systems are not running and they can’t check us in. This member of staff was particularly unpleasant, acting as if it was a fault of ours that our flight had been delayed. He then told us we could not pay the city tax because he had closed the card terminal and we didn’t have cash on us, so told us we couldn’t go to the room until we paid this. In the end we had to put a deposit of £5 in coins down to then pay the following day. This was €3.41 by the way. Eventually we got to the room and it had this tiny double bed stuck on a giant headboard with a bedside table about half a metre from it. There was a strong smell of urine in the room and the bathroom was mouldy and stinky. As well as a random hand print on the wall. We did not choose this hotel, it was booked via wowcher and we definitely would not recommend it. We checked out after about 10 hours and the member of staff on reception wasn’t even surprised. He completely understood our frustrations and didn’t even try to deny the state of the hotel. Maybe some rooms are nice, but ours was not. Also would definitely not recommend this for a solo female traveller, the stair cases are accessible to anyone off the street and they are dark, cold and the sensor lights do not come on. Dangerous!!
