Beautiful hotel

Excellent hotel and staff very friendly and helpful from the minute you entered the hotel. Brilliant breakfast with a massive array of foods to choose from. Room just the right temperature and very comfortable bed. Our flight was late in the evening and we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel and they booked a taxi for our departure to the airport.

Excellent hotel

Stayed four nights here over Christmas. While the street the hotel is located on is not clean and looks very run down, this hotel is an oasis in the desert! Upon entrance in the huge lobby you know you're in a nice hotel. I stayed in a suite, very spacious and comfortable. Bed comfortable, shower hot, numerous windows for natural light. Staff very courteous, both at the front desk and in the breakfast restaurant. Breakfast is buffet style and the selection is large and diverse. Perhaps my only complaint would be the large, refillable shower gel bottle in the shower and bath was never refilled. In fact, when I arrived they were empty and were never filled the entire four days I was there. I like to think the hotel attempts to be environmentally friendly by using these refillable type bottles, but for the duration of my stay I had to use the single-use bottles... what a waste. Location is good - close to buses, trams, metro. Recommended!

Very impressive stay

I stayed at this property over the Christmas holiday and got excellent comfort and quality for a lower rate than most of the other five star hotels in the area were charging. Good value for a top notch hotel. The hotel is in the Jewish quarter on a rather seedy back street, but other than that, it's very close to all transportation links and all that Budapest has to offer. There are a number of bars, cafes and food shops close by. The hotel is formed by an old building, possibly even once one of the thermal baths(?) with the rooms built in new buildings around the main property. It has a feel of luxury as soon as you walk in. Standard rooms are well appointed. They're not spacious, but they are well kitted out. There's a desk and chair, but no other seating area. There's good closet space and room for bags. A fridge packed with expensive mini bar options is provided, but it's not easy to find space for your own drinks/food. There was free water on check in, but this is a one-off. It's not replenished. There was a kettle with tea and coffee, but only unpleasant fruit teas were provided. No black teas at all. There is good lighting, good power points and reliable free WIFI. I didn't use the flat screen TV so I don't know what channels are offered. As it was Christmas, the manager sent cakes to the rooms on Christmas Eve, which was a nice touch. The bed was comfortable and the linens fresh and clean. Good heating and a window that opens for fresh air. Daily housekeeping is provided. There is no room-room noise at all. Very well soundproofed. The bathroom only has a shower stall, no bath tub, but the water pressure is good and there are good amenities provided. The towels have seen better days and are a bit ragged, but they were clean. Breakfast was included and was very impressive, except that the space is badly laid out for seating, especially in these COVID times. Many guests didn't bother with masks and were handling everything on the buffet, then sitting right next to you coughing. The hotel really needs to create more space and enforce the rules. I found this poor attitude quite worrying. The food itself was very high end and there was everything you could want. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, but the outdoor pool is not in use in winter. Both pools are very small and really only two people can swim at the same time. With families with children using the pool a lot, it's impossible to swim. There's also a steam room and sauna for all guests. I had a very nice stay at this property. They need to observe the COVID rules better for the guests, but otherwise I had a very good time.
