History and culture
Sunny beach is the Black Sea’s biggest seaside resort. Holidaymakers flock to its shores for the undisturbed months of sunshine, between May and September. The resort began its days in 1958, it was more of a well kept secret than the press it gets today. In the last ten years the area has developed massively with more and more hotels, bars and restaurants lining the streets, giving you everything you may need while you’re on holiday.
Although the area is quite commercialised, you can still find touches of tradition, explore the small harbour town of Nessebar to see beautiful ruins of old churches and buildings. Dine at Khan’s Tent for stunning views of the coast and where legend has it the fearsome Khan Krum had a military camp in the first century.
