Galaxy Hotel, BW Premier Collection is a seafront hotel on the Greek island of Zante in the Ionian Sea. It's set on the south west of the island, which is studded with olive groves, and is steps from Laganas Beach and a short walk from the centre of Laganas. The hotel is built in a contemporary style, with whitewashed exteriors and terracotta roofs that echo local Greek architecture. The hotel has an outside pool area with a sun deck and two swimming pools, one of which is for children. Here, you can enjoy a drink or snack from the poolside bar while taking in views out over the beach and the Mediterranean Sea. If you like to stay active while you're on holiday, you can work out at the hotel gym. When you feel like relaxing, you can use the spa at Galaxy Hotel, BW Premier Collection's sister hotel, Best Western Zante Park, which is a short stroll away. In the evening, you can sit back and enjoy entertainment organised by the hotel staff. Galaxy Hotel, BW Premier Collection has a buffet restaurant, an a la carte restaurant and three bars. The beach at Laganas is a long sweep of sand that runs up towards Kalamaki to the north. You'll find more places to eat and drink along the seafront.
The gardens at Best Western Galaxy run down to the sand at Laganas Beach. It's a short walk of 800m to the village centre. A short drive from the hotel takes you to Zante Town, the island capital. Here you can visit the harbour or the Venetian fortress, wander through pedestrianised shopping streets and taste Greek specialities at the tavernas. To explore the island further, you can head to the west coast with its rugged limestone cliffs and hidden coves. If you go inland, you'll find traditional villages. The Vasilikos peninsula, to the east of the hotel, features vast olive groves and wide, sandy beaches.
Best Western Galaxy's buffet restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mineral water, soft drinks, local beer and local wine are served with meals. Sandwiches, afternoon tea, cake and coffee are available between meals. You can enjoy food in the a la carte restaurant and drinks in the lobby or rooftop garden bars.
The kids' pool at Best Western Galaxy has a water slide to keep younger guests amused. There's also an outdoor playground where they can burn off energy.
All rooms at Best Western Galaxy are airy, with a modern decor and a balcony or terrace. They have a mini fridge, satellite TV and air conditioning.

Greek Escape
We were not disappointed by this hotel. A beautiful setting immediately off the beach. All the staff were amazing, especially Cyn on Reception. They were incredibly helpful and nothing was too much effort. The food was excellent and the menu was varied. Our favourite night was the Chinese night. The bar staff were friendly and quick to serve us. Excellent choice of cocktails. We were not expecting any evening entertainment but what was laid on was excellent especially the Greek music and dancing lessons. The only negative was how cold the pool was. Definitely refreshing. We were incredibly sad to leave the hotel on Thursday morning. Thank you to everyone for making our holiday special.
Amazing experience
Very good and clean hotel With friendly stuff Amazing experience Food was very good with plenty of variety Pool is very big for adults and the beach in front of the hotel is clean and crystal You should visit it
Won't be returning!
Simply put? It was not ok. The reception staff barely made eye contact or smiled. They were informative about how much things would cost, (of course) but rushed through any explanations, making it hard to follow, what was being said. The room itself was not what we expected. It smelt of mould and there was evidence of mould spots on the curtain leading out to our veranda. Maid came daily towels changed. But had to chase around for fresh pool towels. The roof top bar ( my main reason for booking) was closed! Other guests mentioned this to their reps, who challenged the hotel about it, but they just lied to them and insisted it was open, but I can assure you it wasn't not at any time! Nor was the bistro a-la-carte! Just shocking really, as it clearly states in the brochure & website that it is operational until 31st Oct. And I will say that nearly everyone mentioned this, as they were left chuntering, about how they had been 'sold up the river' on many of the features that simply did not 'feature!' Neither was the inside drinks bar (again they lied to the rep telling her that it was) There was a big storm on the Friday & the whole of the bar area was flooded out, but no attempt at all, was made to bring everyone in to enjoy the indoor bar, until I complained to one of the pool bar staff - who then confirmed they were opening the bar, however..... it only stayed open for a very short time! Which was just insulting to everyone, as we were left with no option but to sit in the storm and freeze! Shutters were pulled down for a short while, but this only served as a wind-breaker for a limited time. Moving around the bar area was just sheer dangerous, and everyone could see it but no regards to guest safety was observed by any of the staff! Terrible! Again not what I would class as a 5* hotel exoerience! The cocktails were grim! The soft drinks were dreadful and the wine was like paint stripper. Red or White No fresh orange juice at breakfast, no catering imagination for U.K guests all geared towards danish & german pallets. Breakfast 'sausage' & 'bacon' was just not good at all. Lunch time, Not much salad choice or fruit. Dinner time was ok....but just o.k food not very warm at all - definitely not on 5* standards. Restaurant staff were just rude! Didnt interact with any guest, regardless of nationality at all- didn't even acknowledge the children! They all just simply looked like they didn't want to be there, no professionalism at all. Most of which were also very un-clean & wearing crumpled clothes, some had had them on for days with stains on them. The cats!!!!! Oh my goodness! It was just ridiculous for cats! Every meal time under your feet, wowing and rubbing past your legs needing food. Then when relaxing (or trying to) on the loungers by the pool, we often had to endure the cats fighting each other. Just not on at all! Ice-Cream was very good however, as was most if not all of the puddings! Coming back to the pool it was freezing cold. The step at the top was broken with sharp plastic left exposed for any adult or child to hurt themselves on. No pool staff to ensure safety was adhered to either. Laganas is a lovely resort however, nearly everything had closed for the season, leaving us all with VERY limited options for things to do in the evenings! Lastly.... why on earth does a 5* hotel have to charge between 6€ & 10€ per day for the use of sunbeds!!! Never ever had to do this anywhere else! It's just ridiculous! This hotel is going to REALLY put people off visiting this beautiful island, which is a shame for the few staff that do care, & do work hard! And on that subject, The one & only 5* that I will pass on however, is for Daniela & Spyros, for their top notch customer service skills! They are the main vein keeping this hotel alive! If it weren't for them & some lovely couples we met along the way, then our experience would have been dreadful! We made it our own, & enjoyed the break but I wouldn't return to this hotel again I'm afraid. They just don't seem to care "because it's end of season' but what they do need to remember though, is that EVERYONE has paid good, hard earned money out to stay there, regardless of the time of year they choose to stay! They are killing their own reputation, but can't seem to recognise they are doing it! ♀️
