Fantastic hotel and an amazing island!
Ellevi was a fantastic stay for us enjoying the private villas by the ocean and the great staff, we would like to mention the Nest Breakfast team with Georgio, Andreas and Fiona as that special kind of treatment you love to have at a 5 star location.
The best on the Island!
This was my second time visiting the iconic elivi win the edge of the Skiathos Island. I had a room with one of the best views on the entire property. It felt that way and that's what a lot of the staff mentioned to me. The Staff and service at Elivi is top notch, everyone is so compassionate and they really value the business and they really do their best to make sure each guest has an incredible experience. The bar has amazing mixologist, all the drinks were blended so well and tasted so good! The food was amazing, fresh and cooked so well. It was as if a pandemic never hit. Elivi really has maintained their functionality with all the chaos that has been going on post Covid-19 I most definitely will be back in the near future for a visit! Elivi is privately owned and everyone there makes you feel like you are apart of the family! Elivi puts the "H" in Hospitality!
Luxury hotel - at one with nature
We had the most wonderful week at the Elivi. We stayed in one of the Premium Suites in the Nest Grove area with a private pool. The suite was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean with a fabulously comfortable super king size bed, fantastic powerful showers and daily change of fluffy bath and beach towels plus coffee machine and two fridges. I felt that the only thing missing was a full length mirror in the bedroom. The terrace was huge and extremely well designed. The Nest area of this large resort hotel has been beautifully landscaped making guests feel at one with nature, surrounded by pine and olive trees and a gorgeous array of flowers. The landscaping of the suites is such that the gardeners and pool maintenance staff can come and go without guests really feeling disturbed. The Nest area felt like a beautiful haven of peace and nature by the sea. We were 3 mins walk from the stunning Big Banana beach (with a sea view from our terrace). We found Big Banana by far the loveliest and most serene of the 4 beaches that can be accessed from the hotel and for which hotel guests have the use of free sunbeds, plus there is a nice (although quite expensive) beach bar with service to your sunbed. We stayed for a week at the end of September and were incredibly lucky with the weather with temperatures in the high 20s and the sea was still lovely and warm to swim in. The breakfast restaurants, like all of the hotel, were beautifully laid out with lovely views although the Nest breakfast restaurant closed for the end of season on our second day, which was a shame. The selection of hot & cold food at breakfast was very good and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. We did find the other hotel restaurants to be somewhat overpriced and this might have explained the fact that they seemed almost completely devoid of guests in the evenings, despite the hotel still seeming relatively full at the end of September. We walked down into Koukounaries to eat (beware - there is a VERY steep hill to climb back up to the hotel in the dark!) and also caught the bus into Skiathos town on a couple of evenings. The bus service is excellent and was running late into the night even at the end of September. Skiathos town is really lovely, with wonderful shops, bars & restaurants and you can also take the water bus during the day from just by the hotel bar on Koukounaries beach, although the number of services per day had reduced when we visited at the end of September. But a visit to wander around the old town with its maze of winding, cobbled streets and a sundowner cocktail on the harbour front is a must. We also made the most of our stay by walking through the stunning, unspoiled pine forests which can be accessed a short walk from the hotel. You can walk to gorgeous, quiet beaches on the west and north coasts of the island within 45 minutes which is well worth a trip. We also hired a jeep through the hotel and explored the dirt tracks through the forests all around the island, visiting some more off-the-beaten track beaches and stunning viewpoints, but note that you can only access these roads with a 4x4, bike or on foot. All in all, we found the Elivi to be a beautiful hotel which we cannot recommend highly enough. They have done a wonderful job of blending in the hotel with the stunning surroundings and creating accommodation which pays respect to nature and creates a feeling of tranquility and calm, with direct access to some beautiful beaches and breathtaking scenery. We had the most fantastic holiday.
