Comfortable accommodation in a great position

Had a ten day stay in the three bed villa with a friend recently. The accommodation was well laid out and we each had a large bedroom and en-suite which was great. We opted for having a breakfast in the restaurant and we were not disappointed. The selection was excellent and plentiful to say the least! Staff were all friendly and helpful and would happily stay there again if visiting Rhodes as the position was great.

Avalon is situated in possibly the best position for exploring the old town and the island, handy for walking, buses, car hire and the port. Breakfast is excellent and varies slightly day by day. Dont be in a rush though, it comes in stages so just eat and enjoy. We chose a superior suite but, whilst very comfortable, actually much of the space was redundant - a huge dining table but no cutlery or crockery for e.g. which we didnt discover until we brought back salads, meats and cheeses one evening after a long days boat trip, not feeling like going out again. I'm sure had we asked staff would have obliged, but there was no sign of anyone on duty. The bathroom looks great, but sadly it is quite impractical. The jacuzzi bath is nice, but if you just want a shower it is carnage! The shower head doesn't fit to the wall bracket and it sprays madly in all directions leaving a swamp in its wake! And dangerously slippy underfoot. Nice big comfortable bed, if a little low at only a couple of inches off the floor, but fine if you are reasonably agile. Not if your creaky bones need a little waking up in the morning! We're not that old by the way, in our 60s and fairly fit. All in all, a great place to stay but the owners could do with testing some of the facilities occasionally - like have a shower, or stay for a night in a room. As a holiday let operator myself, I do sleep a few times in my rooms out of season - you get a better idea of the client experience and if no-one tells you the shower is a disaster you'll never know!

Quiet, charming and incredibly sweet place to stay

I was here last month with a friend and was so glad I chose the Avalon Boutique. It has a great location, incredibly quiet, staffed well and historic as hell! The place is old, maybe structurally centuries, so it could use a little TLC to get it up to as close of a 5 Star hotel as possible.
