Sunshine Rhodes

Boasting panoramic sea views Sunshine Rhodes is an All Inclusive family-friendly resort, located in Ialyssos. For a gentle swim choose from one of the three pools, alternatively relax on the terrace with a refreshing drink from the bar. A further pool hosts the activities run by the animation team, while the kids have their own areas to splash around in, complete with waterslides.

A wide range of activities are arranged for school-aged children, with the teenagers having their own club. In the evening there’s an animation and music programme for the whole family, that includes a weekly Greek folklore night. During the day there’s tennis, beach volleyball, mini golf, darts, garden chess and more. If you’re a novice to water sports you can learn how to scuba dive in the activity pool, before trying it in the sea.

The main Dionissos restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and themed evening meals to take your tastebuds on a journey around the world. One night during your stay you can enjoy an Italian a la carte dinner at Mamma Mia, just reserve a table in advance.

Standard rooms feature a bath or shower, balcony or terrace, a mini fridge with complimentary water and satellite TV. Air conditioning is available between June and September. The family options feature two sofa beds and a sliding door between the parents’ and kids’ sleeping areas. There are also suites with a king size bed and Jacuzzi® but there’s just two available, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Farma of Rhodes, around 17km away, is an ideal place to take the little ones. Here, they can go for a ride on a pony, then feed the ostriches and camels. One of Greece’s biggest exports is honey. By making a 9km drive to the Bee Museum, you can learn about beekeeping and the production of Winnie The Pooh’s favourite food. Maybe buy some Melekouni as a present for friends and family back home. This tasty treat is made with sesame seeds, aromatic thyme honey, almonds and citrus peel.

While on the island you can’t miss The Old Town of Rhodes (9km away), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you can wander the ancient streets and see the different styles of buildings, each telling you something about the diverse history of the island. There’s plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants too!
