Paleos apartments

Paleos apartments is a family-friendly apartment hotel on the north coast of the Greek island of Rhodes. It's a short stroll from Ialysos Beach, which has a sand-and-shingle shoreline, alongside plenty of bars, cafÈs and restaurants. From the hotel you're also a short walk from the centre of the coastal resort town of Ialysos, which has views across the pine-covered hills out to the Aegean Sea. Buildings at Paleos apartments are set in gardens dotted with palm trees, and are centred around the outdoor swimming pool and smaller kids' pool with shaded sun protection for children. The hotel is typically Greek in style with whitewashed walls. Rooms have balconies overlooking the pool and out towards the coast. You'll find floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby, so you can enjoy the views, alongside Wi-Fi and plenty of places for you to sit and relax in the sun or the shade. You can dine al fresco or indoors at the hotel's buffet restaurant, where you can enjoy a range of local and international food. There's also a main bar and a pool bar for drinks and snacks during the day. For entertainment, staff put on a weekly karaoke night. If you want to go exploring instead, it's a short drive to Ixia and Rhodes Town, where you'll find shops, markets and street stalls, along with restaurants, bars and clubs. You can also go on day trips to resorts across the island, including Faliraki, Lindos and Pefkos, plus St Pauls Bay, which is popular for snorkelling.

Paleos is 1km from the centre of Ialysos, where you'll find traditional Greek tavernas, waterfront restaurants and souvenir shops. It's 800m to Ialysos Beach, which has shallow water, making it a popular spot for families with kids. There's also a supermarket 500m away. It's 8km to UNESCO-protected Rhodes Town, with its cobbled streets, narrow alleys and medieval architecture. You could shop at the boutiques or haggle at the markets, where you'll find local specialities including fresh honey, sweet baklava and Greek ouzo. For a day trip, you could visit Lindos, which has an ancient acropolis on the hillside, plus rooftop bars overlooking the bay. Further afield, you can get the boat to the Turkish resort of Marmaris, which has an Ottoman era castle, boat-lined marina and historic Old Town. You could wander amid the stalls in the Grand Bazaar or visit the water park with its pools, slides and mini golf course.

Paleos has two bars, including one by the pool and another within the main building. Both serve local and international alcoholic drinks, plus juices, water and soft drinks. There's also a buffet restaurant that offers local and international food and drinks for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

You can wander through the gardens or relax by the pool. You can go sightseeing or hiking on the island's walking trails.
