Amada Colossos Ultra All Inclusive Resort is an All Inclusive hotel that sits right on Kallithea beach, a short drive from the popular resort of Faliraki in the north of the Greek island of Rhodes. The hotel, which was refurbished in 2017/18, has four swimming pools, one of which is a quieter pool for adults only, plus a water park with a variety of slides and flumes. During the day you can take part in activities such as aerobics, aqua aerobics and water polo. You can also enjoy a game of boules or tennis, as well as join in with beach volleyball. In the evenings, the hotel organises entertainment including live shows, or you could relax with a cocktail at one of the bars. Amada Colossos Ultra All Inclusive Resort has its own private area of sandy beach, but if you fancy a change, the coastline around Kallithea has pine-covered bays and small rocky coves that are suitable for snorkelling. The area was known in the ancient world for its natural springs, which were said to have healing properties. You can find out about its history and enjoy a taste of its former grandeur by visiting the refurbished 1920s spa with its Islamic-inspired architecture and mosaics.
The hotel is on Kalithea beach, 4km away from the bustling resort of Faliraki, which has kilometres of sandy beaches and plenty of shops, bars and tavernas. Faliraki is a popular place with young people as many of the lively nightclubs stay open until dawn. The capital of the island, Rhodes Town, is 10km away and can be reached by bus. Here, you can stroll around the medieval town centre that's now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or visit Mandraki Port, the naval port of ancient Rhodes. It was thought to be where the original Colossus of Rhodes, a giant statue, once stood.
The buffet restaurant at Amada Colossos Resort is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, featuring international cuisine and Greek, Italian and Mexican nights. A kids' buffet at lunch and dinner has familiar favourites like fish fingers. Three a la carte restaurants specialise in Asian, Italian and Greek food, and there are seven bars to enjoy.
You'll find a number of sports available at the hotel, including tennis and beach volleyball, while there's a spa for relaxing treatments, too. The hotel also provides daily activities for kids, including arts and crafts, singing and games, as well as a mini disco and movie nights. There's also a playground.
All of the rooms at Amada Colossos Resort have a balcony or terrace. Inside, you'll have air conditioning, satellite TV, high-speed Wi-Fi and a mini fridge.

A five star stay!
Amada Colossos did not disappoint! Myself and my Mum stayed at the Amada Colossos for a week and we did not want to go home, everything from the pools, to the food, the friendly staff and the entertainment team was brilliant. We were looking for a relaxed pool/beach holiday, so keep that in mind in terms of the review. We booked a sea view room (in the new building - rooms looked very newly renovated) and the view from the balcony was absolutlely stunning. The room and all of the hotel facilities were cleaned religiously - it was spotless. This was something we were concerned about as it was our first time travelling since the pandemic so we were delighted to see how much effort went in to keeping all areas clean. The restaurant was great, food was always hot, a huge amount of choice and plenty of variation for all three courses - in fact one of the best all inclusive buffet restaurants we've experienced. I wouldn't say we are fussy eaters but we do expect high quality meals and we weren't disappointed. The main restaurant has two distinct areas, one area for families and one adult only area, as two adults travelling together we really appreciated the adults only option. Laura the waitress who was there daily really made our meal times, she always had a huge smile and nothing was ever too much trouble. We ate at all three of the al la carte restaurants (included with our package), the greek was by far our favourite (home advantage!) the asian was great, italian less so but still an enjoyable meal. We spent most of our days lounging by the pool, the bar staff were all fabulous and we loved the frozen yoghurts and slushies! We always managed to find a couple of sunbeds and a parasol and the hotel pool towels are nicer than most. The beach was lovely too with crystal clear water and plenty of sun beds, whilst it does have sand it is pebbly so would suggest beach shoes. We did an evening trip to Lindos which we booked through our rep, it was nice enough but to be honest the hotel is so lovely you don't really need to venture out. Finally the entertainment team - what a fab bunch of people. Always happy and they work so hard. We joined in with the daily aqua aerobics, Keeley, Zara and Mana were all brilliant (sorry for any misspellings!) and we really enjoyed the evening Mumma Mia show. Most evenings there were also live singers by the pool which was pleasant to sit and listen to with an evening drink. There is a wide variety of drinks on offer both day and night from wines, beers and spirits to cocktails or a selection of soft drinks - you can even have a hot drink, which my mum appreciated. All in all we couldn't have asked for more and hope we'll be able to return soon - we would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Thank you to all the team!
Fourth visit and again very happy
Recently returned from our 4th time at Amada Colossos. Again we had a lovely time there and were very much made welcome and looked after by all the hard working staff, from the reception, to the meal service staff and the bar staff. We have visited the 3 previous Octobers and for a more detailed review read my Oct 25th 2021 review. I'll keep this one short as Ive said a lot before. Overall for what we as a family of 3 want from a holiday it suits us perfectly and we also met up with two other familly's with kids who we met here previously. The service for us was of the highest quality. A nice touch was a surprise birthday cake for me at our evening meal. This was at the Greek a la Carte restaurant which we tried for the first time, which I would recommend. I read other reviews from high summer which suggested the hotel couldn't cope with amount of guests, long queues everywhere, not enough sun beds etc... However for us in October we experience a calm pleasant stay as most euro countries the kids are at school. For us it is Half term so that is when we visit. The temperatures mid Oct are still around 23-27 degrees, still warm enough in the sea. On average in our 4 visits we have had one day each time where it rains, luckily this time it came in the evening and we had a spectacular lightning show over the horizon, which brought great waves the next day when the sun came back. We were told it was the first rainfall since January! Location: We love it but don't have any other hotels around the island to compare it to. Bus Stop directly outside hotel, cheap 5-10 mins to Faliraki and 20-25 mins to Rhodes Town. Walking distance to Water Park. However there is no Promenade for a really nice walk if that is your thing, it's either the main road or a walk along the beach, passing through other hotels zones, Beach/Swim shoes recommended. Hotel is clean and stylish. I was nice to see familiar faces, especially the lovely and hard working Aida at the Hotels own Water Park bar and her new partner Christina/Christine who made the best Pizza's and kept us supplied with enough snacks, salads and drinks that we never had to go inside for lunch. Also there was plenty of food at the beach bar. Thanks again to Dimitris the waiter and Kostatinos the head Chef who remembered us and was very helpful and polite. Also one new young Bar man in the evenings I found very hard working and polite, sorry I can't remember your name, but I did thank you before I left. Overall I appreciated that the staff work long hours and many days without a day off, so a smile and a please and thank you to them surely makes their day better. We shall return for a 5th time I'm sure, however as next October I will turn 50, maybe Las Vegas here we come!
Great Hotel, good food, but….
This great hotel is situated right on the beach, it has a lovely pool with a swim up bar, family end of the pool and adults only end. The rooms appear to have been tastefully refurbished to a minimalistic taste, only fault with the room is no door on the bathroom. The hotel reception are extremely helpful, especially when I left my telephone on the bus, they phoned ahead to the depot and the driver of the bus delivered my phone to the Hotel on his way home! The dining room is refurbished to a height a standard with a themed buffet every evening. We all agreed, that the food was of a very high quality and cooked perfection. We had exceptional service from our servers, Valbona and Thassos. The wine and beer are acceptable. As we were here for ten nights we were given three bookings at the “Speciality” restaurants, one Greek, an Italian and an Asian. First night, we had Greek, it was average, but not a Taverna atmosphere, the food being average. The next we had the Asian, this was excellent with a very high level of service, I’d recommend this book on arrival! The Italian was awful, the Carbonara was bland and worst of all cold, the staff reacted badly to this criticism , they then offered us pizza for some reason? We declined and left,my suggestion would be don’t book and have another night in the main dining room. Now the but..there are definitely not enough Sun beds, despite the Hotel thinking there are. The rules of not saving sun beds are never enforced. we witnesses a group save sun beds on the beach and by the pool then going back into the hotel having covered all options! Next the alcoholic drinks are horrible, the draft beer is ok, any spirit based drink has an awful harsh taste. I understand that it is locally made, but does it need to be that horrible? We had a gin and tonic, it had no resemblance to a gin and tonic here in the uk. Cocktails made here are made with syrups instead of natural juices and uses locally made cola etc. there is only one choice for sugar free drinks, diet cola, locally made not great for diabetics etc. My last criticism is the paper cups! Claiming to be environmentally friendly. Drinking a cocktail from a paper cup it doesn’t screen 5 * . There are some very good quality multi use plastic glasses on the market that would give poor quality drinks a better look. Overal I would recommend this hotel, we really enjoyed our break here and would come back. Just be mindful of the sun bed issue and the low quality alcoholic drinks.
