Zeus Hotel is a short drive outside the resort of Kefalos, which is near the south western end of Kos, a Greek island in the Dodecanese. Two-thirds of the coastline of Kos is beach and it's known for its clear seas. The family-run hotel is in a peaceful, rural setting with views of the mountains. Zeus Hotel has an outdoor pool area that's serviced by a pool bar. As well as the main pool, there is a separate kids' pool, so it's easy to keep the children entertained while you relax with a drink or take a dip. The hotel's rooms have simple wooden furniture and have fresh look. The sandy beach at Kamari Bay is steps away, and the surrounding area has lots of cafÈs, bars and tavernas by the sea serving traditional Greek food. It also has some low-key nightlife options. The older part of Kefalos, at the top of the hill, is a maze of narrow alleyways with traditional whitewashed homes featuring blue painted doors. If you fancy a hike, there's the remains of a ruined Byzantine castle above the town, or you could take a gentler stroll along to the harbour where you can take a boat trip or just admire the luxury yachts that are moored up there.
Zeus is 250m from Kamari Bay and 3km from the centre of Kefalos. From Kamari Bay you can see the tiny islet of Kastri, with castle ruins on top, along with the blue and white Agios Nikolaos church that featured in the Mamma Mia! movie. It's one of the most photographed places on Kos, and if you want a closer look you can go by boat or jet ski. You could even swim out if you're feeling fit enough. You might want to take a picnic to the icon-filled Agios Ioannis Monastery, a short drive from Kefalos, as it has benches with uninterrupted views over the sea.
The hotel offers a continental breakfast in the morning. The pool bar serves drinks and snacks such as toasties from morning until the early evening. The main bar in the reception area opens from early evening until the small hours for drinks, including international alcohol brands.
The hotel organises Greek nights and quiz evenings.
Rooms at Zeus have air conditioning, central heating, access to Wi-Fi and a mini-fridge.

This was our 9th annual holiday at Zeus. And the first since COVID, so after a 2 year break As always treated like part of the family. Nothing is too much trouble. As we hadn't had a holiday for 2 years we treated ourselves to 1 of the larger rooms overlooking the pool. The weather in Oct is a little cooler than June but only a 2 hour rain shower and an overnight storm to indicated that Autumn was here. The breakfast was as always simple but healthy with toast, cheese, ham, boiled eggs, tomatoes, grapes, jam and cake. With Tea, coffee and a choice of 3 juices. If you wanted eggs on toast or full English, this was available cooked to order for 3 to 5 euros. From lunchtime to 5pm there is a wide range of snacks and meals available from the poolside bar. Along with hot and chilled drinks and, ice cream. Loads of sunbeds around the pool with 1 umbrella per 2 beds. ONLY 2 rules. 1) food eaten at the pool must be bought from the pool side bar. 2) do not leave towels on sunbeds and go for a day long stroll. The rooms were serviced daily and plenty of hot water available at all times of the day. Bedding (2 sheets) changed frequently. Towels daily. Evenings at the bar can be lively, but usually well mannered and often hilarious. 2 large TVs show sport on request. Background music is main stream UK from all years and genres. Drinks are priced slightly above local bar prices, but the measures make up for that. :-D TIP when you leave your room if the window is ajar, don't let go of the door. IT SLAMS WITH A BANG. Its coastal there is a constant breeze. All in All a great hotel to spend your well earned two weeks holiday. Many of the guests return year after year so they must be doing something right. We would like to thank Manos, Nick, Dionusia, Maria & Zak for helping us enjoy our holiday. Already booked forn June 2022 and looking forward to another great time.
Great hotel
I can't believe this is only a two star hotel, I stayed in 4 star hotels that do not compare to the Zeus. This family run hotel has a friendly atmosphere, the rooms are spotlessly clean, there's a great pool and thick padded sunbeds. Nicholas on the bar remembers everyone's name and how they like there drinks he's a funny lad. It's only a five minute walk to the beach with a few bars tavernas and restaurants close by.
Can't believe this only rated 2 Star.
Just got back from two great weeks at the Zeus. A lovely family run hotel were nothing is too much trouble. We've stayed in four star hotels that are nowhere as good as the Zeus. The rooms are spotless, decent size balconies and a great pool. Nicholas the son is Amazing (his words not mine) he is a star he'll remember your names from day one and remember how you like your drinks.
