On its own sandy beach, Atlantica Porto Bello Royal is a short drive from the resort of Kardamena on the south coast of the Greek island Kos. You can have a swim in the Aegean Sea, which is steps from the hotel, or instead use one of the 18 swimming pools on site. The pool area includes a space dedicated to sports and a separate kids' pool with water slides. If you prefer to relax, there's a sun terrace as well as a gym and a spa, which has a heated indoor pool and a sauna and offers massages and beauty treatments. Thrill seekers can try paragliding courtesy of the hotel's activities team, and there's also a hotel-run kids club for children aged 4-12. There are four bars to choose from at Atlantica Porto Bello Royal serving international brands of soft and alcoholic drinks. The lounge and pool bars stay open from morning until the early hour, while the beach bar serves until sunset. There are also five restaurants to choose from, with international, Mediterranean and Greek dishes available. For a change of scene, you can take a trip into Kardamena, where there are lots of shops, restaurants and bars.
Beach lovers will enjoy the proximity to the sand at Atlantica Porto Bello Royal, with the hotel's own beach 100m away. If you want to explore your surroundings a little more, the popular resort of Kardamena is 3km away. You could visit the Temple of Apollo and the Church of Agia Barbara, while the kids will love the water parks and amusements in the local vicinity. Kardamena also has its own port where you can catch a ferry to the nearby island of Nisyros. Here there's an active volcano, a number of beaches and the natural thermal springs where water temperatures can reach 60°C.
Each meal time is covered at Atlantica Porto Bello Royal, with a buffet restaurant open for breakfast and another three buffet-style options and an Asian restaurant opening at lunch and dinner. Ice cream and snacks are available between meals, and there's four bars serving drinks throughout the day.
The hotel offers aerobics classes, beach volleyball and tennis (racquets and balls can be hired). Entertainment is provided six nights per week.
13 sea water outdoor pools, 1 indoor pool with whirlpool (adults only) and 1 child pool. 1 pool bar.
The hotel's rooms are light and airy with tiled floors and lots of natural light. They have Wi-Fi, a TV, a fridge and air conditioning.

Second visit to Kos
October a good time to visit. Weather was good. Room comfortable. Plenty of pools and space. Entertainment enjoyable and varied. I am tea total so cannot comment about beer, wine or spirits. Food generally ok and plentiful. .
Summer holiday
Simply lovely 5 star resort, on arrival very friendly staff, bell boy was super helpful and took us and our luggage to our room on a golf buggy. Beautiful room, very big and a shared pool just outside our terrace doors! Good food very good selection we tried the main restaurant always a great selection, the Italian restaurant chef cooks your food to order while you wait ( nice touch) the Greek restaurant on the beach was amazing great variety & setting the views were excellent and the Mediterranean restaurant at the beach again freshly cooked food and good quality food something for everyone! The only restaurant we didn’t try was the burger one! But it did seem busy! You need to book all the restaurants on the app a day in advance they get very booked up! The hotel was spotless, sometimes we had to queue for drinks! Every type of drink is included we didn’t pay extra for cocktails! The mini bar was restocked daily in our room. Amazing selection of pools but we did stick to the one by our room! Short stroll to the beach which had a variety of water sports sun beds and the two restaurants and a bar Taxi into Kardemena was €10 each way I thoroughly recommend this hotel
Beautiful hotel
Myself & a friend visited this hotel back in Sept and had an amazing time. The hotel is so beautiful to look at the views of the sea make it the perfect backdrop for pictures. The positives of this hotel are definitely the number of pools for starters we really did try a different pool every day which made it so easy for sun beds and a change of scenery. The buffet has amazing choices & staff were so quick to help and so many great choices. We also loved the Italian & Greek restaurants for a change of scenery. We didn’t visit the beach but we did see it and such easy access to the hotel by a small walk, you could really spend a day at a different area of this hotel which is great. Few negatives were the Burger restaurant not enough choices & staff in there ie 2 members of staff couldn’t really keep up with the amount of people in there. Queuing for drinks was not great I’ve never really experienced this at an All Inclusive hotel before and it would help if there was beer and soft drinks stations so people didn’t have to queue for everything. We queued mid September so i’d dread to think waiting times in July & Aug. Evening entertainment was seriously lacking in this hotel we had such great days but on an evening everyone was sat in reception/outdoor terrace with very little entertainment or a live singer singing ‘fields of gold’ etc a bit depressing especially because there was such a mixture of age groups also. We felt like we were getting dressed up for an evening to eat and to sit there, was not great atmosphere. Animation welcome show was very poor and especially the girls performing no smiles & very miserable. Although there are negatives here, the hotel is great and we loved it and would definitely return I just think certain things could be looked at especially for a 5* platinum hotel. We had a fab night in Kardamena and wish we knew about the bars earlier and cheap taxi there that reception can book for you. We also did Zia by night tour which was an amazing sunset lots of nice shops.
