Beautiful gardens shame about our studio

Jun 2022 | angelalA8073KT

Arrived on Monday the 20 th June 22 ! Me and 2 friends. Stunning gardens beautiful iris plants pool and little bar looked fantastic impressive better than photos. Greeted by a young Greek lad very pleasant, asked to wait until room ready no problem . Short wait then taken to studio, great outside sun loungers x 2 chairs and table . told air-con would be 5 euros a day, ok yes please, then the slot what holds the fob to put the electric on and the air con fell off the wall , which was already taped to the wall with parcel tape fell off the wall 5 times each time we tried to slot it in , we said this needs sorting as we carnt use electric or fridge air con , his friendly demeanour suddenly changed and he said no one available until tomorrow anything else , he left and we started to unpack. The nob dropped off a unit the wardrobe door was hanging off . There was a shower which you had to hold over yourself, that flooded the bathroom each time , the shower curtain didn’t fit now curtains, and no curtains in the bathroom so anyone could see you walking by , the cooking rings did not work and we were self catering. There was only a frying pan no other pans . Bare wires from plugs no light on the stairs which are concrete and slate tiles , it was a bed down stairs then two beds and kitchen upstairs. The fly screen was minging on the toilet window, every surface doorknob and tap was sticky. We didn’t complain and no one came to fix the fob thing for electric., it was like faulty towers , there brothers that have taken over from there Mam , and expanded from a small hotel to a bigger complex with 3 pools and restaurant 2 bars , there not maintaining it simple as that , the gully around the top pool by the restaurant is foul like pond with green slime, there’s old furniture scattered about, that once would have been beautiful but is worn out. We really made do and did not want to complain and have a bad atmosphere for our holiday, but people should know that you could end up with a bad room , other guests we spoke to had nice rooms, I also spoke to people in similar situations to us . I spoke to people in the local taverns and some used to stay but stopped going. It’s a real shame as it could be excellent. We spoke with the mum while waiting for our bus, we did not know it was the owner , she asked had we had a good time, we said yes , she said my sons run this now, and we have taken on the apartments and studios , she was lovely and I just couldn’t bring myself to complain to her , it’s not mum that needs telling. The bed was stained and ripped , the pillows blah The place is peaceful so quiet, But that studio needs so much doing to bring it up to standard. There massive with two bathrooms. Ideal if everything worked and was cleaned properly . Loved the holiday just not that studio

Lovely Stay

We stayed here 9-16th June. We had an issue with our first apartment. The front door had a very dodgy lock, there was no lock on the patio door, no hot water and the loo packed up in the night! We spoke to the manager the next morning and he moved us to a new room. This was sorted very quickly and efficiently. The rooms are tired and it seems like most need an update but they are cleaned daily and there’s plenty of fresh towels. The grounds are lovely and very well maintained. There are 3 pools but we only visited the main one. This pool was one of the warmest I’ve ever been in abroad this too was clean and well maintained. There was always plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available and the sunbeds have lovely thick cushions. There is a bar at this pool and we consumed too many bottles of Mythos there as it was so lovely and cold, served in iced pint glasses ❤️ The owners and all the staff, without exception, are lovely. Friendly, polite and chatty without being ‘in your face’. The food in their restaurant is really nice and there is always a special on every night. The walk to the beach is about 5/10 mins and there are just a few restaurants to choose from. Our favourite was the blue and white coloured one that was on the corner of the road. The bus stop is opposite this restaurant and the bus runs several times a day into Agostolli and Lassi. It is 2€ each way and takes approx 40 mins on an air conditioned bus. (There is a photo of the timetable below!) Ammes Beach is lovely. The water is clear and surprisingly warm. Beware of the temperature of the sand! It was unbelievably hot and even with fit flops on, it’s really quite painful to walk on. The sea is a bit choppy but get past the waves and it is gorgeous! Sunbeds were 7€ for two with an umbrella. There is a little shack bar on the beach where you can sit up on stools with a nice cold beer. We had a lovely time at Sotiris and would be happy to stay there again. It’s a very relaxing, quiet resort and we came away feeling very relaxed. Job done!

Just returned from a week's stay at Sotiris Studios. Had a lovely 2 bedroom apartment near 1 of the 3 pools in the complex. We ate in the restaurant on a couple of occasions and had really nice food each time. It is within walking distance of restaurants, Ammes Beach and a couple of small supermarkets. Short walk to bus stop that is on the route to Argostoli. The resort is on the flight path however we enjoyed seeing the aircraft pass over us on the beach and was a great source of entertainment for our girls
