Apostolata Island Resort & SPA

Located on the southeastern coast of the Greek island of Kefalonia, Apostolata Island Resort & Spa is a family-friendly 5 star hotel. Here you have the crystal clear waters of the sea in front of you and the 1628m summit of Mount Ainos behind you, a designated national park. The rocky but scenic Porto Skala Beach is just over 1km to the south, with alternative options to the north.

The well-equipped spa offers a wide range of treatments. If you wish to benefit from more than one, book your own personal tailor-made journey. Relieve tension in your neck and shoulders with an Indian Head Massage or maybe indulge in an aromatherapy experience, the choice is yours. The Jacuzzi and gym are available to Apostolata Island guests free of charge, other services may incur an additional charge.

The kids' club offers a range of games and activities for younger guests. There's also a playground and children’s pool, where they can have fun and make new friends. While the little ones are away enjoying themselves, you may wish to go for a swim in the infinity pool or take it easy and chill on a sunlounger, while sipping a cocktail from the bar.

Sea Pearl is the hotel’s buffet restaurant, featuring show cooking. Early breakfasts are available on request, while for those who like a lie-in, it remains open after 10am for a continental style first meal. Ostako offers a more formal a la carte experience, while Zephyros serves fresh fish, Italian dishes and snacks poolside. After dinner, relax in the Ionian Emerald lounge bar with your favourite digestif.

Standard rooms are a generous 26m2 and have a balcony or terrace. They also feature air conditioning, WiFi, a TV, coffee making facilities and a mini bar. Superior options can accommodate up to three guests, while four can share a Family room. If you love swimming and want the ultimate in luxury, why not upgrade to the suite with a private pool. Offering 65m2 of space, a relaxing living area and a sea view from your spacious terrace and pool, what more could you ask for?

A complimentary shuttle bus service is offered, operating to both the charming resort of Skala and the picturesque village of Poros. For the energetic guests, the national park area around Mount Ainos provides an opportunity for hiking in the fir forests on its slopes. If you wish to climb to the top, you don’t have to walk the whole way, as you can drive part way up. You may even spot some wild mountain ponies on the way. There are also numerous impressive caves to explore on the island, some come with their own tales from Greek folklore.

Relaxing Break

Wonderful relaxing holiday in a beautiful location. During our stay we found the staff to be warm, welcoming and exceptionally friendly. On many occasion they went out of their way to help us with additional requirements and arranging trips. Our sea view room was large, spacious and peaceful with beautiful views over the ocean to watch the sunrise. Again the staff in the restaurant were warm and attentive. The restaurant has pleasant views over the ocean. However the quality of the food in both the main restaurant and the à la carte restaurant were disappointing. During our stay we opted not to eat there and headed into Scala where there is a wonderful choice of traditional Greek Food. The Spa in the hotel offered some lovely treatments in which we indulged in, and were excellent. We were however disappointed that the indoor jacuzzi (which you could only pre book) was chilly and during our time in there we were asked to turn off the water massage jets in order not to disturb people having treatments with the noise of the water! Also the hard sell of products by the Spa staff after treatments was off putting. Entertainment in the hotel has much to be desired! Lack of variety led many guests including ourselves to head to Skala in the evenings. The hotel courtesy bus stopped at 5.30pm each evening, but a taxi into Skala was €7 Euros each way.

Beautiful and relaxing

The views from the hotel are stunning. Hotel is amazing and staff amazing. I would recommend either hiring a car or going fully inclusive as resort is not close by and small. Highly recommend the boat trip to Fiscardo which you can arrange through hotel. Pool is best hotel pool I've come across. There are a lot of steps around complex. Only negatives entertainment is not great and they do not replenish teas and coffee in rooms.
