Karavados Beach Hotel is within walking distance of Karavados, a coastal resort on Kefalonia, the largest of the Greek Ionian islands. It's surrounded by olive groves and pine forests, and is a short stroll from St Thomas Beach, a sandy stretch of coastline bordered by the Ionian Sea. In the centre of Karavados you can find traditional Greek bars and restaurants if you fancy trying the local delicacies. Karavados Beach Hotel has two outdoor swimming pools, one for adults and one for children, which are surrounded by a sun terrace that overlooks the ocean. The outdoor areas are home to greenery such as palm trees. For younger guests, there's a water slide attached to the kids' pool. The hotel's interior design is warm and bright, with sunny tones that create a Mediterranean feel. You can choose from two restaurants offering meals throughout the day. At one you can eat buffet style, and at the other you can order from the menu. You can enjoy food in an outdoor seating area on a terrace that has views of the sea and surrounding countryside. At Karavados Beach Hotel, the restaurant bar serves refreshments from mid-morning to late evening so you can keep your drink topped up.
Karavados Beach Hotel is a 400m walk from St Thomas Beach and 2km from the centre of Karavados itself, a resort renowned for its whitewashed houses with terracotta roofs. The centre of Lourdas is a 6km drive from the hotel. The capital of the island, Argostoli, is within driving distance and attracts tourists with its boutiques, tavernas and museums. From Kefalonia, you can take a boat trip to the island of Ithaca, the setting of Homer's The Odyssey, or spend the day exploring the beaches in Zante. Perhaps the most famous here is a cove with high white cliffs and a shipwreck.
At Karavados Beach Hotel, you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at the buffet restaurant. Both international food and Greek specialities are available here. At the a la carte restaurant, which is open for dinner, you can order meals inspired by the local area as well as the mainland.
You can relax around the pool area with local and international spirits, beer, tea, cocktails or coffee from the bar at the hotel's restaurant.
Rooms at Karavados Beach Hotel are airy and bright with dark wooden furnishings and colourful accents. All come with a balcony or terrace and air conditioning.

Beautiful location, nice hotel
Stayed for two weeks bed and breakfast. Ate here once in the evening but the menu and food while adequate wasn’t amazing. We do like to eat out in a variety of places anyway while on holiday. Breakfast however we found really good, one of the best we’ve had in Greece. Plus points: beautiful setting with amazing sea and mountain views, lovely pool and garden area and the hotel and grounds were absolutely immaculately clean and well cared for. Plenty of sun beds and a nice seating area, both in the sun and shade. Our room was also kept very clean with fresh towels and bedding every few days. The room (214) was a large family room that slept 4 and had a bigger balcony than most. It would have been perfect for us but unfortunately - here are the minus points - it was near the top of the stairs and lift which made it noisy. The first week wasn’t too bad but the second week, we seemed to have several lots of noisy neighbours who didn’t care to keep their voices down or close doors quietly. So we heard noise from 7am until the early hours. The bar area was dead in the evening - very quiet - from around 10pm which we thought strange for such a big hotel but didn’t bother us too much. The bar service was a bit hit and miss in the evening so maybe that was why. All staff professional and helpful when asked, but quite formal and kept their distance. The breakfast staff and our cleaning lady were lovely - friendly and very hard working. The location is isolated but we didn’t mind that - we enjoyed the stunning scenery while walking to Karavados and Trapezaki and hired a car to visit Argostoli and beaches further afield. Recommend using the bus to Argostoli which stops outside the hotel and was 2 euros each. Also recommend Happiness taverna in Karavados, and Gefiri, Veramente, Enastron and Joy Bar in Trapezaki - all have lovely food, great service and amazing views. We would return to the hotel but only if we could stay in one of the smaller blocks at the back of the main building - the main block was just to noisy for us.
Avoid this hotel ! This is 0,5 hotel !
Avoid this hotel !!! The furniture is from 1950 ! Staff no professional! Food disgusting, cold and cheap ! Manager is disaster and selfish! This holiday was a nightmare, from first night we wanted to go back ! Avoid this ! They delete my review over 20 times and they do the same with other people. They are keeping the good ones and people don’t know the reality, when they arrive there is disaster!!!
Wonderful stay
A lovely stay for 2 nights between places. We stayed for 2 nights, bed & breakfast and were so pleased with the rooms, breakfast and pool area. The view from our room was spectacular. The staff were friendly and helpful, thank you.
