Istion Club is a family-friendly hotel in Nea Potidea, a popular beach resort on the western coast of the Halkidiki peninsula, Greece. The hotel is steps away from a stretch of sandy beach, and is within walking distance of the centre of Nea Potidea. The hotel complex has a central outdoor pool area, with a main swimming pool that overlooks the beach and ocean. Here, you can sit and relax with a drink or snack from the pool bar. While the children are being entertained in the kids' club, you can head over to the gym for a workout or enjoy the spa and heated pool. If you want to spend the day on the beach, the hotel offers the chance to go scuba diving or sailing on a yacht. Alternatively, you can relax with views over the Ionian Sea with a drink from the beach bar. Six days a week, the hotel organises evening entertainment for the whole family. If you want to venture outside Istion Club, there are beach bars and restaurants within walking distance that are open until late in the evening. Slightly further out is the town of Nea Moudania, which has a wider variety of nightlife.

The centre of Nea Potidea is 2km from the hotel. Here you'll find a selection of restaurants, bars and cafés, together with the sandy Agios Mamas Beach. Further north from the hotel is the main town of Nea Moudania, where you can visit the beach and the many bars and cafés lining the beachfront. The town has a market every Wednesday selling local food and souvenirs. From here, you can take boat trips around the peninsula to see the Simonopetra Monastery on Mount Athos, or if you want to be more active, there are several walking routes in the area.

Istion Club has three bars; a main bar, a bar by the pool and one on the beach. A buffet restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner options, with local and international cuisine. There's also an à la carte restaurant. Outside the hotel, there are tavernas, restaurants and cafés within walking distance.

The hotel runs a kids' club with a range of activities for children aged 4-12 years. There's also a separate swimming pool for children.

The rooms are open and airy, with a minibar and a TV with satellite channels. Both Wi-Fi and air conditioning are also available.

Excellent last minute, end of season break

Our stay at the Istion Club was a last minute booking and we didn’t have high expectations. We choose the destination because we particularly wanted to visit the historic city of Thessaloniki We arrived late at night and were allocated a suite consisting of, bedroom, sitting room,bathroom and a balcony. Very spacious and spotlessly clean. Despite it being towards the end of the season the staff were unfailingly courteous, helpful and accommodating. The staff at the reception were especially responsive.The rooms were kept immaculately clean and the gardens and landscaping were a pleasure to see. The buffet breakfast was more than sufficient but the evening meal buffet was not inspiring and seemed to be rather disjointed. Having said that, there was always plenty and excellent choices for vegetarians . We wish to particularly mention Evangelia the Reservations Manager who ironed out the initial problems that we had had due to our very late arrival at the resort.

Very friendly staff, great food with many selections in the buffet, even for my wife who is a vegan. The kid enjoyed the 3 pools and the playground. We had the all inclusive package which I recommend because it also included sandwitches between meals. The bars were great and the bartenders very professional. The animation team was very friendly all day. I loved the water aerobics :-) We will try to visit again

Nice Hotel but..

This is our last day in Istion in general hotel is ok no major downside but there are some points we did not like it. Let me first mention on the positives: Hotel employees: we have really good experience with them, they are very kind helpful and respectful. Beach: It is not maybe nicest beach but it is clean, it is not crowded but you have to go early to grab a sunbed. Overall cleanness: it is satisfactory. Also there was a nice suprise on my wifes birthday they put a cake for us. A nice gesture from the hotel. Negatives (lets say according to our view we do not like ) Rooms : first day we were given a ground floor room which has not enough light and no wifi at all luckly hotel management change our room next day but then we have ac problem couple of days then they fix it and wifi was again troublesome in some hours , I believe it is related with usage but you should not have such things in 5 star hotel. Location: Hotel is isolated you have no public transportatition to near villages you should take taxi all the time. This is ok for some people stay all the time in hotel but we really enjoy to go sometimes local restaurant and near hotel there is nothing like this. Food: Mediocre, I saw earlier comments from Hotel manager but I have different opinion after couple of days all food seemed to me redundant, still you will find some thing to eat but do not expect much. All in all according to my view hotel is ok but I would give 3 or 4 stars as a ranking. Frankly as our first holiday in Greece we have expected a bit more.
