This modern establishment is located in the lively area of Platanias. The property is situated just 4 kilometres away from the energetic town of Rethymnon where visitors can enjoy a nice stroll around lots of little quaint shops with lots of architecture to explore. For sunbathing and a refreshing swim, the beach can be found at just 500 metres away. Around a 3 minute walk is the center of platanes where guests can find shops, restaurants bars and clubs. In the restaurants guests can taste the traditional products of Crete. Facilities of the hotel include a pool for guests to enjoy a leisurely swim or lie by the pool with a refreshing drink from the hotel bar. I will be totally honest, we booked this cheap for the flight really and a base for 10days, the pictures looked fine, the reviews not bad. First impression a smell in the lobby, ok it's Greece drains can be iffy, the lock on the public toilets non existent, so I walked in on someone. The public areas need a little care, and although pool nice enough was pretty shaded and the bar area not as large and nice as pictures. Now the room, I did laugh not quite as bad as the prison I had in Goa but reminded me of it. It really really needs a patio door, and the view was as described by a friend as the headline. It was a large area and I did get a sunbed from the pool, but to be fair we really didn't use the room or hotel apart from to sleep a few nights. Nice big rooms, comfy, clean bed, cleaners great, in every day or other day. Not too badly equipped, basically got what we paid for, but really, really would not chose to stay there if it was to be my residence full time. It was though a short 8min walk to the main strip and a then a few to the beach. Not a resort I'd chose again, but as a base to travel about it was ok. Needs a revamp and just some attention to brighten it up.

First impressions ok, got here quite late at night thanks to a delayed flight, so grabbed a few Mythos from the bar and went and sat on the balcony to chill for a bit before heading to bed. Not long after collapsing onto the bed we were awoken around 2/3am by shouting and slamming of doors, for ages. Obviously not a personal reflection on these apartments, but to explain the kind of clientele that stay here. In the morning we could obviously see things a lot clearer and could see from our 3rd floor studio balcony that the pool was filthy, couldn’t see the bottom and a green sludge was forming around the edges of the pool. Funnily enough we avoided that pool for the entire stay and were always out somewhere else during the day. A few days in we decided to pay for the aircon. Not something we usually do, but the studios do not have any windows, only the balcony door for air to get in. All seemed good to begin with, we turned it on low and went out for dinner. Came back a few hours later to find the whole dressing table under the air con unit flooded and the air con unit constantly dripping, spoke with the hotel reception in the morning to be told someone would look at it that day. They didn’t. Same thing happened the next day. By the time it was fixed we only had 2 days left of the holiday. What I will say is that they were really helpful when we asked if they had any rooms we could pay to stay in after our checkout time as we had a late flight. They gave us a 2 bedroom apartment, much nicer as expected than the studios, however I wouldn’t recommend staying in these if you are a light sleeper as this was right on the National Road. This was my 7th stay in Crete and most definitely the bottom of my list of places I have stayed there so far.

Everything you need. Fabulous family run hotel. We are a mixed age family from 40 to 80+ 8 of us in total. Super clean rooms, fantastic comfy beds. Pool, bar, snacks, easy walk to beautiful local restaurants serving wonderful food, whatever type of food you eat it's here in the local area, shops, beach. local people are very happy and friendly, nothing is to much trouble.
