Iberostar Creta Panorama & Mare

Positioned on the promenade, IBEROSTAR Creta Panorama Mare is a hotel near Panormo, on Crete's northern coast. It's a short drive from the resort centre, which is arranged around a boat-lined harbour and sandy beach, with two wooden piers. You can spend long, lazy days at Geropotamos beach, where the hotel offers water sports, including canoeing and flyboarding. The hotel has four outdoor swimming pools, along with two kids' pools. You can dine at the buffet restaurants, where you'll find international cuisine on offer, along with traditional Greek dishes. There are also eight bars to choose from, including three by the pool. They're dotted around the hotel's flat gardens, amid lawns, lined with palm trees and plants. The low-rise buildings have classic Greek whitewashed exteriors, with traditional terracotta tiled roofs and the occasional floor to ceiling window. Bedrooms are decorated in neutral tones, with light coloured walls, marble style flooring and wooden furnishings. At IBEROSTAR Creta Panorama Mare, you can spend the morning at the spa, which is home to a sauna and an indoor pool. You can take your pick from a range of beauty and wellness treatments, such as manicures, pedicures and massages. The hotel also has its own hair salon. If you're feeling energetic, you could attend a fitness class, including aerobics and aqua aerobics. There's also mini golf, beach volleyball and football on offer, along with diving. After dark, you can watch the evening entertainment, which often includes shows, live music and activities.

Iberostar Creta Panorama & Creta Mare is footsteps from Geropotamos beach, where you can swim in the calm water and stretch out on the soft sand. You can pick up holiday essentials at the local supermarket, which is 200m away. It's 4km to the centre of Panormo, with its open-air cafes, waterfront restaurants and beach bars. You'll be able to try the local cuisine, which includes hot gyros, fresh moussaka and sweet baklava. You can also look for souvenirs at the shops and street stalls. Further afield, it's 25km to the seaside resort of Rethymnon, which is known for its historic Old Town. You can explore narrow alleys and cobbled lanes, lined with independent stores, traditional Greek tavernas and pavement cafes. You'll also be able to wander along the waterfront, with its ancient harbour, wooden houses and sandy beaches.

At Iberostar Creta Panorama & Creta Mare, you can visit the bars, which serve international alcohol brands, along with soft drinks and bottled water. You'll also be able to get snacks, such as ice cream, cakes and hot dogs. You can dine outdoors at the hotel's restaurants, with their kids' options and theme nights.

First of all the hotel is set in a wonderful position (albeit remote) overlooking the sea from many angles. There is plenty of open spaces around the pools and grassed areas and a couple of lovely...
