Worst place I have ever stayed
Do not stay here!! Absolutely nothing good to say about his poor excuse for an apartment - stuff of nightmares Filthy, uncomfortable and basic beyond belief, the apartment was like going back in time - uncomfortable, small creaky beds wouldn’t surprise me if they were older than me, cheap bedding that I highly doubt is cleaned between guests and certainly no clean sheets for the entire time we stayed there (a week) barely enough room to raise your arms to wash your hair in the dated, trickle of a lukewarm shower, one toilet roll provided all week, rest of the time had to buy your own. Ants everywhere. Have to pay extra for safe and noisy air con - couldn’t go without either really. Bar expensive with poor choices. Staff/owners the most rudest people Iv ever met I was also ( after reading other people’s experiences) promptly approached by owner on my way to the pool from our room to have a small bottle of water physically removed from my person and instructed to instead by from the bar. Did not feel Welcomed, valued, or safe here and can’t believe we lasted the week in such a dire place. Don’t waste your money please, this is not a nice place!!
Quiet, Handy For Old Town, Spotlessly Clean
Stayed at Stelios for 2 weeks, for my brother’s wedding in the village. Plus points ... The Apartments are well situated in a quiet area of Old Malia, and only 2 minutes walk to the centre of the Old Town - a perfect combination. The pool / bar area of the hotel is pleasant, and you could spend all day there if you wanted. The apartments are sufficiently kitted out for you to cook light meals if you have the mind to. The owners, Lida (Leeder) and brother George are pleasant and attentive. Lida even organised a dentist’s appointment for me. The whole outfit was maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, which was reassuring. The clientele in the main tended to be middle aged and older couples, with just a sprinkling of youngsters. It was a good mix in my experience: pleasant with little late night noise. Points To Note: In the high season, you will probably need air con in the rooms. This is an additional cost over and above the quoted room rate. Quite frankly, however, the room rate is so reasonable, that I was quite ok about paying the additional charge. It didn’t break the bank ... Overall I recommend this place as reasonably priced and good value for money. If you want de luxe with all the fripperies, you’ll need to go elsewhere!
good stay for price
Lida and George were very kind and helpful, gave us a map of the surrounding area upon arrival and always greets you with a smile. the area is amazing- so many delicious restaurants within 5 minutes of walking and only a 10 minute walk to the nightlife area / 20 minutes to the beach a couple of things to keep in mind- you have to pay 8€ a day for air conditioning, and the wifi only works in the bar/ pool area. but that’s okay, we weren’t on our phones a lot anyways! my only complaint is that we couldn’t even have a water downstairs at the pool/ bar area- i understand not bringing your own food or alcoholic beverage but i think water should be allowed considering the heat. overall a good stay!
