The perfect family all-inclusive
If you need an experience that takes you away from realities of this world, pampers you and leaves you refreshed, then Creta Maris is the one for you. The experience begins before we get there. Be it on the phone or email, the staff are so well mannered and so understanding of your requirements that you feel welcome even before you are there! Our taxis were booked in no time and when the taxi driver did not turn up the reception tried hard to track it him down and called me to assure me that he would get there The atmosphere is exceedingly welcoming and you realise it as soon as you step in the reception. Bags are taken care of immediately; you are offered a welcome drink and taken to your accommodation. Our accommodation was not the bungalow but it was nice. It had everything you wanted; a lovely balcony, a quick walk to the beach. The room was spotless although the bathroom was probably a bit jaded. The main thing to do is to get the app and book activities from there. There was a lot of talk of people on getting the restaurant they wanted but there is no such a problem. If you don’t want to use the app or the phone the staff members are at hand in the morning when you head to your breakfast and they can book you there; it is as simple as that. The resort is enormous. There are several pools. In April, the water was colder for our liking but we found 3 small heated outdoor pools, all close to where we were staying. The highlight is of course the food. As foodies we were not disappointed at all. There are loads of options for vegetarians too. There are so many desserts to choose from. We enjoyed swimming in the sea and other activities like tennis to burn off the calories that you put on. Note that tennis gets booked real quickly so you need to plan in advance. The romantic bar in the middle of the resort is a great way to unwind after a long day. The cocktails , hot drinks are great. All inclusive is really all inclusive, with an exception of a few specific expensive drinks everything is included! One day we went over to the rock pools close to some bungalows and they are great to swim in. The water was super cool but it was still fun. A few photographers came checking if we wanted a professional photoshoot. It is that kind of a cornor on the Resort. One day we tried there water park, it was very cold but we still went ahead. The slides are enjoyable, they are not that steep. The snack bar serves good drinks and food. It is exceptionally clean. We ventured out of the resort only once using the road train but it was a boring experience, one best avoided. It just made us value the stuff inside the resort more! The road train takes you to a village, there is not much to do in that village; we had a traditional coffee in one of the cafes/taverns and that was that. The road train criss crosses the entire area before dropping you off so you need to be patient! You are better off walking to get to the restaurants and port but you won’t need to do that because you have some of the best restaurants inside the resort. The Cochlias is the best restaurant to get into; it is a BBQ style restaurant and the views are absolutely amazing! You can sit right besides the sea. Make sure you check the sunset and book an hour or so before it so that you can enjoy the colours in the sky reflected in the sea. We ended up going there twice in our 8 night stay. The Estia is at the other end of the resort, right on top. It is similar to but smaller than the main cosmos restaurant. We saw a chocolate fountain there. The traditional Pithos was great too. The Almyara is great for late rises because they keep it open to longer than Cosmos for breakfast. All in all , this was a foodie’s paradise. The staff members are all exceptional. It is a resort where you cannot go wrong even if you wanted to . We will certainly come back again.
Hotel visit with my business partner, TUI travel agency
Beautiful hotel in Greek style. A large area in the form of a village. Excellent location 10 min walk from the center of Heronissos. Very good food and diverse. The best a la carte Mediterranean restaurant. The beach is not as nice as in the photo of the folder. Too much sunbeds, Tightly located. A big minus are paper cups for drinks in Beach bars.
lovely family resort
Wonderful experience! The resort offers a wide variety of programs for adults and children. Most of these activities are outdoor and very limited indoor. Therefore, the weather plays a critical role. All in all, the resort is very large with friendly staff. A memorable experience was dinning at Restaurant Almyra, hosted by a very lovely staff member named Frosso. She did make our dinning experience special, clear recommendations and positive energy. On the other side, one of second bars, near the second main outdoor pool showed a very rude behaviour by simply ignoring by presence at the open air bar and demanding that I had to wait in the line. I assumed that he was trying to do his job with less movements and attention. I assumed my complain to the hotel management will changed the behaviour of few people offering services at the open bar. The responsibility and respect should not be erased because some tourists are choosing to stay in the line (same as in their country of origin) and not understanding the meaning of open bar. Overall, the resort remains a high recommendation for families, esp with kids. I am considering to spend my time and money at this resort once again.
