The hotel is located right next to a sandy beach in Gouves, a small resort with a few shops and restaurants. This quiet resort is situated in the northern central region of Crete, and is ideal for exploring some of Crete's many attractions.This beach hotel will appeal to families and couples who want a relaxing beach holiday. It has a lobby with hotel safe, a restaurant, a snack bar and a bar. There is also a laundry service and parking facilities (subject to fees), as well as a children's playground.All rooms come with en suite bathroom with shower, a minibar and a fridge.There is an outdoor pool for adults and children, and a sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols.

We were moved here from their sister hotel despo and was not disappointed! They (despo and kalia) arranged all the change over and even sorted our excursion collection point, and transfers back to airport. Moved our belongings for us as we were out the day of move (was discussed prior) Staff were lovely, George on the bar was great fun and ended up making me my own cocktail using the drinks from all inclusive! The room was beautiful, the gardener obviously takes pride in their work. Food was lovely. Pool was chilly-but I'm a whimp with water temps, everyone else seemed happy. We were never bothered. Only thing for us were the cats, love cats but around your feet while eating was a bit annoying. Would definitely return with the kids

I am sorry to write this review. I have visited Kalia Beach hotel about 4 times. I love the nearby beaches. I have usually enjoyed my stay, hence return visits. The reception lady was very lovely and also the restaurant staff. Our flight was delayed over 24 hrs and we arrived over a day late about 3.30am. We had to struggle our cases up 2 flights of stairs and weren't even offered a bottle of water. The man on reception just seemed to be irritated with us. The food has always been a bit repetitive but this time it was the same almost every day. Some of it was very nice though. The thing that has put ne off more than anything, was the evening barman. He seemed over friendly for a several days, which made me feel uncomfortable. Then the last few he was grumpy and rude. I bought cola and wine from a nearby shop rather than go to the bar. I will still go back to the area but to a different hotel.

Fantastic hotel

We found the hotel to be clean comfortable and the staff were very welcoming, Despina Maria and Mike on reception couldn't be more friendly or helpful. Our double room was modern spacious with a lovely garden view. The restaurant overlooks the sea and is nicely laid out. Unlike some reviews which puzzled, us we found the food very much to our liking. The food is fresh and well presented much of it in a traditional style. The many salads are amazing and varied daily. I am gluten intolerant and found many tasty choices daily. Unfortunately I could not eat the delicious Greek cakes and pastries. However there is always a selection of melons grapes etc. The hotel manager knowing of my dietary restrictions presented me with beautiful fresh figs one evening. Excellent guest care. Manos in the restaurant is attentive efficient polite and kind as are the rest of the staff at the hotel. The bar and pool are immaculate and cleaned daily with plenty seating and sun loungers. The proximity to the beach is a plus to this hotel. We had a wonderful holiday here and would recommend a stay at this hotel.
