This is a wonderful, upscale getaway which blends all the amenities and attentive service of a resort with the intimacy and unique aesthetics of a boutique hotel. This charming, family-friendly hotel features extensive gardens with green lawns, olive trees and roses gently swaying over the stone paths connecting the different areas of the resort. It offers guests an ambiance of seclusion and has discreetly situated suites nestled amongst the green foliage, with spacious private terraces and private pools with panoramic sea views. Renovated in 2015, the hotel comprises a total of 113 accommodation units, including 34 Deluxe Suites -Junior Suites and 8 Villas most with private heated pools. Facilities on offer to guests at this air-conditioned establishment include a lobby area with a 24-hour reception-concierge and check-out service, a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility, a cloakroom and a newspaper stand. There is a games room, an art gallery and boutique, a home cinema TV lounge and a kids' club for the younger guests. Piano Bar, Pool Bar and Beach Music Bar are also on site. From the moment we arrived at St. Nicolas Bay we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, a genuine care to ensure our time in Crete was memorable. Every detail from the delicious food, incredible accommodations, and breathtaking scenery made for an absolutely unforgettable experience…truly a trip of a lifetime!

Wedding at St Nicolas

We stayed at a 5-star hotel prior to arriving at St Nicolas Bay for our wedding, we expected our previous hotel would not be beaten, but we were so wrong. This hotel was amazing, the staff could never do enough to help and help they did to get our wedding documents translated and ensure the wedding went without a hitch (the wedding was on-site next to the bay a gorgeous setting). From the very first day we arrived we were welcomed, all the staff were great, the food was fantastic and a perfect hotel to chill whilst on holiday. Our wedding breakfast was so large we had to put some in the fridge. This hotel was far better than your average 5-star hotel. Alexandros (General Manager) was a perfect host always ensuring every guest was well looked after. Also the town of Agios Nikolaos is a short taxi journey away (about 10 euros) for shopping, boat trips or a good night out, there are regular buses just outside the hotel to Elounda/Plaka where you can catch a boat trip to Spinalonga. The best hotel I've ever stayed at and can't wait to return.

Everything at St.Nicolas Bay is so good we have been going back since 2015 (including the 2020-21 Covid years). However you rate a hotel St.Nicolas Bay is 5 star in all categories. There are a wide variety of rooms available and they are all tastefully furnished with well appointed in-room facilities. There are four restaurants in the resort offering different dining options and the quality of food, wine and service is excellent in each. The Astra cocktail bar is a lovely terrace overlooking Agios Nikolaos ideal for pre or post dinner drinks. Alternatively the Bonatsa beach / jetty bar is perfect for a night cap. The resort location gives quiet seclusion and comfort with its own small beach, sun terraces and infinity pool all with beautiful views over Mirabello Bay. There is also a wide range of outdoor and indoor activities available including water sports, gym, spa treatments, indoor pool and yoga classes. Last but just as important is the staff and service they provide. Whether it is housekeeping, room service, bar or restaurant staff, chefs, spa, receptionists, customer care or management everyone is friendly, helpful and can't do enough for you to ensure your stay is one to remember and, as happened with us, makes you want to go again. The most important asset in any business is its people and people make places. We are already looking forward to our next stay in 2023.
