Located in north eastern Crete, this 4 star hotel is nestled between a green hill of pine trees and the majestic Ionian Sea. The infinity pool provides the ideal place for a gentle swim or chilling with a cool cocktail. Meanwhile, the children can join the Kids’ Club (6 days a week) for a fun programme of indoor and outdoor activities.
The spa provides a place of tranquillity for guests aged 16+, where you may choose to book a massage or join the steam bath. If you prefer to remain active there’s an outdoor gym, tennis courts and water sports. In the evening look out for the schedule of fun activities, including folklore nights and discos.
The main Dionissos restaurant provides an endless buffet for breakfast and lunches. In the evening there’s themed nights featuring dishes from around the globe. Please note that gluten-free options may not be available. Lovers of Italian food can enjoy an evening dining at Mamma Mia, where you can devour a pizza or pasta dish, followed by a gelato or tiramisu. As part of your All Inclusive perk you can dine here once each week, just remember to reserve a table in advance. When you fancy a refreshing beverage, choose from the selection available at the main, pool and disco bars.
Sunshine Corfu Hotel has over 300 rooms, with almost 200 located in the main eight storey building. A further 100 are located in bungalows, where they are surrounded by gardens. These are ideal for families and groups of friends, with two twin beds and two sofa beds. Over in the main building, Doubles have two twin beds and one sofa bed, while the family option has an additional two sofas that can convert into an additional place for someone to drift off. Whichever you choose, you’ll have WiFi, satellite TV, a mini fridge and air conditioning (from April to September).
The hotel is just 25km from Corfu Town. Here, the standout feature is the 16th century fortress, built by the Venetians on the site of a Byzantine castle. Climb to the top to get a panoramic photo for your Insta feed. If you’re lucky you might even be able to spot the mountainous coast of Albania. The Old Town has a maze of narrow streets, with an excellent selection of places to shop, eat and drink.
Those with a head for heights can visit the Monastery Of Pantokrator (22km away). This 14th century gem is 917m above sea level and is still in use today. If that’s not your cup of tea, you should head for the impressive Nymfes Waterfalls (20km away), located in a forest 1.5km outside the village of the same name.
