Louis Althea Beach is as good-looking in real life as it is on screen. That means you really can make yourself at home in a pretty room, and then spend your holiday stretched out on a lounger with a gorgeous sea view!
You’ll have two freshwater pools to choose from, plus a shallow one for little kids. Need a bit of help to relax? Head to the spa for a sauna, massage or mani-pedi. Or, if you’re more of a gym bunny, make a beeline for the fitness room and take your place on the treadmill. It opens early, so you could even fit in a workout before breakfast!
Whichever board basis you choose, you’ll get to start the day with an indulgent buffet at the main restaurant. Take your pick from English, continental and traditional Cypriot options. Had a long lie-in? Grab a bite at the pool bar, open for late breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks. And when that closes, the main bar takes over the cocktail-mixing and beer-pouring duties for the evening.
Activities here include tennis, beach volleyball, aerobics, and billiards. Bike hire is available, too. This family-friendly hotel also has a playground, playroom, baby lounge and children’s menus. And did we mention there’s evening entertainment and a mini-disco three or four times a week?
You’ll be sleeping in a Mediterranean-style room or suite, complete with free Wi-Fi plus a fridge, coffee maker, satellite TV, safe and balcony or terrace. Air conditioning is available from May to October, the warmest months. Studio rooms (sleep up to three people) have twin beds and a sofa bed. One bedroom suites (sleep up to four people) have a twin bedroom plus two sofa beds. Two bedroom suites (sleep up to six people) have two double/twin bedrooms plus two sofa beds. So, there’s space for all the clan!
As for the location, stroll out of the hotel and straight onto a beach that’s small but perfectly formed - it’s an idyllic spot for sunbathing under the blue Cyprus sky. Sunloungers and parasols are available to rent. And if you walk just a little further, you’ll find Pernera’s main sandy stretches, plus the lively bar scene of the resort centre. At under 1km away, it won’t take long to get back to your room after a late night on the Cypriot brandy sours.
Or, make your way to the bigger town of Protaras, 3km away. Here, you can wade out into the shallow waters of Fig Tree Bay, sample all sorts of tasty meze dishes in an authentic taverna, and take a boat trip to the beautiful Cape Greco reserve - the island’s most southeastern tip. And if you’re up for a really big night out, Ayia Napa’s a short taxi ride from your hotel (around 8km).
A perfect hotel for a quieter sunshine retreat, Louis Althea Beach is open April-October to give you the best of the Cyprus weather.

Even more amazing than last year
We went back for the 2nd year in a row and it was even better than the previous year. We were so impressed with just the breakfast last year that we went all inclusive this year. We weren’t disappointed. We said we’d go out for a couple of meals, but the food was so good we didn’t even want to do that. So many options and a raw salad bar, salad bar and fresh fruit as well as pasta, rice, meat, vegetables and traditional dishes. The pools are fab as is having the sea so close. Lots of other children for mine to play with during October half term. Mine are 4 and 8 so perhaps if they’re older then the entertainment might be too young for them, but my children had the best time ever and happy children equals extremely happy parents. The only disappointment was having to go home at the end of the week.
Great holiday and lovely hotel
We went to Louis Althea beach resort last week of October and had a fabulous holiday and would highly recommend, for the food, value for money, and beautiful location. We went all inclusive and would definitely recommend as the food and drink was amazing. Our room was located and overlooked the infinity swimming pool. It was clean, tidy and cleaned on a regular basis. The pools and communal areas were also kept spotless. All the staff were very friendly and hardworking and would go out there way to help you. George the waiter especially went out of his way to get mocktails made for my partners daughter. If you could give a Special thanks to Matteo from Mark and Max we both really enjoyed the water polo and beach volleyball. We would definitely return to Louis Althea. Many thanks Mark
Lovely holiday
We went away for a weeks getaway looking for a hot location which was all inclusive nice reviews and does not break the bank. This hotel was lovely, nice food close to the sea. The kids enjoyed the pool and the entertainment team provided aqua aerobics beach volley ball and waterpolo each day. A nice chilled out time with the family small cove just outside the hotel where I went snorkelling with my son who enjoyed the calm shallow waters. There is a lovely beach cove just a 5min walk where the kids can play safely on the beach and in the water which is sheltered by the surrounding cove, allowing for calm water. There is a water sports set up at baywatch water sports, the team were fantastic, I took my 8yr old daughter out on the jet ski and she loved it. They do all other water sports and the team are very friendly. Fully recommend for a family. Only downside we found, the local town is small and not much going on but there is larger towns a short taxi ride away.
