Louis Althea Beach is as good-looking in real life as it is on screen. That means you really can make yourself at home in a pretty room, and then spend your holiday stretched out on a lounger with a gorgeous sea view!
You’ll have two freshwater pools to choose from, plus a shallow one for little kids. Need a bit of help to relax? Head to the spa for a sauna, massage or mani-pedi. Or, if you’re more of a gym bunny, make a beeline for the fitness room and take your place on the treadmill. It opens early, so you could even fit in a workout before breakfast!
Whichever board basis you choose, you’ll get to start the day with an indulgent buffet at the main restaurant. Take your pick from English, continental and traditional Cypriot options. Had a long lie-in? Grab a bite at the pool bar, open for late breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks. And when that closes, the main bar takes over the cocktail-mixing and beer-pouring duties for the evening.
Activities here include tennis, beach volleyball, aerobics, and billiards. Bike hire is available, too. This family-friendly hotel also has a playground, playroom, baby lounge and children’s menus. And did we mention there’s evening entertainment and a mini-disco three or four times a week?
You’ll be sleeping in a Mediterranean-style room or suite, complete with free Wi-Fi plus a fridge, coffee maker, satellite TV, safe and balcony or terrace. Air conditioning is available from May to October, the warmest months. Studio rooms (sleep up to three people) have twin beds and a sofa bed. One bedroom suites (sleep up to four people) have a twin bedroom plus two sofa beds. Two bedroom suites (sleep up to six people) have two double/twin bedrooms plus two sofa beds. So, there’s space for all the clan!
As for the location, stroll out of the hotel and straight onto a beach that’s small but perfectly formed - it’s an idyllic spot for sunbathing under the blue Cyprus sky. Sunloungers and parasols are available to rent. And if you walk just a little further, you’ll find Pernera’s main sandy stretches, plus the lively bar scene of the resort centre. At under 1km away, it won’t take long to get back to your room after a late night on the Cypriot brandy sours.
Or, make your way to the bigger town of Protaras, 3km away. Here, you can wade out into the shallow waters of Fig Tree Bay, sample all sorts of tasty meze dishes in an authentic taverna, and take a boat trip to the beautiful Cape Greco reserve - the island’s most southeastern tip. And if you’re up for a really big night out, Ayia Napa’s a short taxi ride from your hotel (around 8km).
A perfect hotel for a quieter sunshine retreat, Louis Althea Beach is open April-October to give you the best of the Cyprus weather.
