Constantinos The Great Beach Hotel is a 5 star, family-friendly hotel in Protaras, on the eastern coast of Cyprus. It overlooks Vrissiana beach, where you can swim or just relax while admiring spectacular views of the Mediterranean. Fig Tree Bay, with its shallow waters, is 400m away. There's cafes and restaurants lining the beachfront, while if you want to get active, there's a water sports equipment rental service.
Within the hotel's ground there are two outdoor swimming pools and a further indoor option. Little ones who are too young to swim, can splash around in the paddling pool. If you want to be active but remain dry there’s table tennis and a fully equipped gym. Those preferring to unwind can take advantage of the poolside sunbeds or relax in the spa, where you'll find a sauna and a whirlpool.
Constantinos The Great has three bars serving drinks throughout the day and evening. There are two buffet restaurants offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. For a more formal option, choose between a Mediterranean and a Chinese a la carte menu. In the evenings, the hotel puts on entertainment including dance shows, game shows, bingo and quizzes. Children can join in the fun at the kids' disco, while teenagers can chill in the video games area.
Each of the rooms, refurbished in 2018, feature an LCD TV with satellite channels, WiFi, a hair dryer, a safe, mini bar, tea & coffee making facilities and a furnished balcony. Those booking family suites will additionally have a sofa bed and a jacuzzi, along with the ample space you'd expect.
If you choose to dine out you'll find a wide variety of places to eat in the local area, from Brazilian themed steakhouses to British themed pubs. Thanks to the handy nearby bus stop it's easy to get to Waterworld Ayia Napa, with or without a hire car. Here children will love the 18 thrilling rides and attractions. It's also very different to a similarly named attraction in the West Midlands, as it's outside in the Mediterranean sun.
Local buses will also take you to the walled city of Famagusta, with many unique buildings. Othello Castle was the setting for a Shakespeare play. But do note that while Famagusta is internationally recognised as being in the Republic of Cyprus, it's under the control of a de facto TRNC, meaning you will need to take your passport to be allowed in.
