Constantinos The Great Beach Hotel

Constantinos The Great Beach Hotel is a 5 star, family-friendly hotel in Protaras, on the eastern coast of Cyprus. It overlooks Vrissiana beach, where you can swim or just relax while admiring spectacular views of the Mediterranean. Fig Tree Bay, with its shallow waters, is 400m away. There's cafes and restaurants lining the beachfront, while if you want to get active, there's a water sports equipment rental service.

Within the hotel's ground there are two outdoor swimming pools and a further indoor option. Little ones who are too young to swim, can splash around in the paddling pool. If you want to be active but remain dry there’s table tennis and a fully equipped gym. Those preferring to unwind can take advantage of the poolside sunbeds or relax in the spa, where you'll find a sauna and a whirlpool.

Constantinos The Great has three bars serving drinks throughout the day and evening. There are two buffet restaurants offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. For a more formal option, choose between a Mediterranean and a Chinese a la carte menu. In the evenings, the hotel puts on entertainment including dance shows, game shows, bingo and quizzes. Children can join in the fun at the kids' disco, while teenagers can chill in the video games area.

Each of the rooms, refurbished in 2018, feature an LCD TV with satellite channels, WiFi, a hair dryer, a safe, mini bar, tea & coffee making facilities and a furnished balcony. Those booking family suites will additionally have a sofa bed and a jacuzzi, along with the ample space you'd expect.

If you choose to dine out you'll find a wide variety of places to eat in the local area, from Brazilian themed steakhouses to British themed pubs. Thanks to the handy nearby bus stop it's easy to get to Waterworld Ayia Napa, with or without a hire car. Here children will love the 18 thrilling rides and attractions. It's also very different to a similarly named attraction in the West Midlands, as it's outside in the Mediterranean sun.

Local buses will also take you to the walled city of Famagusta, with many unique buildings. Othello Castle was the setting for a Shakespeare play. But do note that while Famagusta is internationally recognised as being in the Republic of Cyprus, it's under the control of a de facto TRNC, meaning you will need to take your passport to be allowed in.

Lovely hotel as it's advertised just like a picture very clean and keeping covid measurs in mind had hand sanitisers every wete all the staff wearing masks. Good food every night different themes Greek Cypriot bbq Asian exc. Very friendly staff from receptionist to gym bar to restaurant. Rooms are big modern and well furnished...we booked room with sea and pool view...beautiful view and very sunny . We were there for Xmas and New year they had some days night entertainment. Indoor pool nice and warm need bit update with paint and tiling. Overall great hotel for vacation totally relaxing must be busy in summer but in winter hotel is OK but everything is closed near by very quite only 2 or 3 restaurant open. I will highly recommend this hotel.

Not a place we would recommend

Dec 2021 | Dawn S
This is definitely not a 4 or 5 star hotel - at best 3. Next to no entertainment- very poor. Rooom was a goid size, bed ok but bathroom was appalling- so small - the hairdryer was next to useless. We had to complain about our chambermaid as her cleaning was not to the standard we expected- after complaining the Manager viewed our room and agreed with us and addressed the problem. The cleaners would always leave something hanging around in hallway (hoover etc) which made it look untidy. The carpets are stained and in need of replacement. The pool area was not fully cleaned daily - again we complained and this was addressed. The food was very disappointing and the staff cleared the food away before the closing time - we approached staff to ask why and they was aggressive with their reply- again we complained and this was addressed. The Lobby bar staff were fantastic- very keen to ensure our holiday was a good one - the pool bar has 2 staff members- Paul who is exceptional- very friendly and chatty - then there is Andreas who is the most arrogant bar tender we have had the misfortune to have to put up with - he was lovely to the young good looking holiday makers but had a horrible sarcastic way with us older people - we are very good tippers on holiday but he did not get a penny. The location was fantastic- great views. Town is very dated but is a victim of these Covid times. The WiFi was a bit hit and miss which was a problem for us as we work 3 hours a day on our laptops. The Tennis court was a joke - net was held up with a stick. We would definitely not recommend or return to this hotel. Very disappointed with Jet2s description.
