Rude staff. Not the room we booked.
I stayed for one night in August 2016 and it was terrible. At first I checked-in at six in the afternoon and the room wasn’t cleaned. After waiting half an hour I went to the room and I realised it wasn’t the room I booked. I booked a studio which included an extra camp-bed and there wasn’t any camp-bed in the room. I specifically called the day before to confirm the booking and asked whether the camp-bed is included to the room or if I should ask for it. They assured me that the camp-bed will be inside the room. When I went to the reception she told me that there was nothing she could do and that if I wanted the camp-bed I should have let them know earlier. Even though I told her I called the day before she couldn’t help me so I asked to speak to the managed. She called the manager and she insisted that it was my fault and that if we want the camp-bed we should pay extra. She also said that the couch that is inside the room unfolds to a camp-bed. That’s where I realised that they gave us the wrong room because in the room we only had two chairs. In the end we couldn’t find a solution. The attitude was inappropriate and they weren’t helpful at all. I don’t recommend it to anyone.
Good hotel for pleasant vacation
Very good location of the hotel, near city center (Ayia Napa Monastery) where all the bars and clubs are, but in the quiet neighborhood which is good for rest (except sometimes noisy street (motorcycle rental is in the opposite side of the hotel)). Room was clean and cleaning was organized 5 time per week. Room has balcony, flat TV with satellite channels, fridge and full operating kitchen and it's own bathroom. Room also has air condition and it is additionally charged. Hotel have 24/7 reception and staff was really kind, helpful and friendly. Pool is clean also. There is no room WiFi, only in the lounge and it is not free of charge. In my opinion best rooms are in the second floor. Rooms on the ground floor are bigger (duplex room) but their balcony look on the pool yard or on the street so you can not leave open balcony door when you are sleeping or you are not in the room.
Not worth what we paid
I stayed at Alonia Apartments with my friends in August. As it was our first girls holiday we just wanted a place to rest our heads and didn't have high expectations upon arrival. However when we entered the room we were hit with a horrible smell of sweat, the kitchen utensils provided were dirty and the bathroom smelt like it had not been cleaned for a while! To make matters worse we found what seemed like a used condom in the kitchen area and another in the bathroom! the cleaners very rarely attempted to clean our rooms and our sheets were not changed for the whole week. In addition to this our toilet over flowed on the first morning which was a horrible sight and when a gentleman came to unblock it I was shouted at for not understanding about putting toilet roll down the toilet, which was never explained to us before. Also the air conditioning (which you have to pay for) was brilliant in the beginning but led to my friends and I developing sore throats and colds so we had to suffer in the heat for the last few nights and not use this facility. On the other hand the pool area allowed for a moment of tranquil as we were the only guests using it and the members of staff on the reception desk were always very polite and helpful with our queries. Overall, even though the members of staff were very friendly and polite the facilities of this apartment were terrible I would not recommend this accommodation even for a place to "rest your head" as that is all we wanted and even then we were still disappointed.
