You can spend your days on Makronissos beach, where you can stretch out on a cabana and paddle in the sea. It's a short drive to the resort centre, with its shops, bars and boat-lined harbour. The hotel has two outdoor swimming pools, one indoor pool including a heated option, and a smaller kids' pool. You'll have a variety of dining choices, with two a la carte restaurants and a buffet restaurant. There are also five bars, including one serving cocktails on the rooftop. The whitewashed building is home to a range of facilities, including a gym and spa. Bedrooms are designed in a contemporary style, with neutral colour schemes, tiled floors and sliding doors. They come with patio doors leading onto a balcony or sun terrace. At Asterias Beach Hotel, you can spend the afternoon at the spa, with its Turkish bath, sauna and steam room. If you're in need of a treat, you could book a massage, manicure or pedicure. You can visit the gym and attend a fitness class, such as aerobics and aqua aerobics. After sunset, you can watch the evening entertainment, which includes live music, dancing and shows.
Asterias Beach sits on the sandy shores of Makronissos beach, which forms part of the horseshoe-shaped Nissi Bay. It's 2km to the local water park, with its slides, wave pools and lazy river, along with places to eat and drink. You'll be 4km from the centre of Ayia Napa, where you can dine on locally caught seafood at a pavement cafe and look for souvenirs at the shops. If you fancy a night out, you could visit one of the resort's famous nightclubs.
At Asterias Beach, you can dine at the buffet restaurant, which offers a variety of local and international cuisine, along with regular theme nights. You'll find bars dotted across the hotel and beach. They serve internationally branded alcohol, soft drinks and bottled water, plus a selection of food.

My review of the hotel and local area.
Loved our stay. We booked a sea view one bed apartment. On arrival the restaraunt manager greeted us and pointed us to reception where a glass of wine was offered. After check in she offered to sort us out some food but we were too tired. As it happens a nice little picky dinner had been put in the room for us both as it was a late check in as well as water and fresh orange along with fruit. A lovely touch. We needed extra pillows, and that wasn’t too much trouble at all. Our room cleaner was thorough and polite. If we weren’t there any clothes we had left in a pile on the floor as our “dirty clothes” pile were all neatly folded and on the foot of the bed along with fresh towels. The restaraunt staff were fantastic offering advice on options and generally really friendly, you need to visit as the food is amazing (try the dakos and beetroot tartar)! Poolside was relaxing, music not too loud and not too busy during our stay but comfortably busy with people enjoying themselves without being rowdy. The drinks were reasonable priced and staff attentive. Breakfast was served in the poolside eating area and always a good selection of cooked and cold options as well as fruits and drinks. A shop is situated opposite the hotel which is open late every day and has a really good selection. The hotel location is perfect if you prefer a more chilled out time, with a small village to your right as you leave and a larger one to the left. I recommend you to eat at Patriko, Maria on the door was fantastic, welcoming and fun without any of that pushy “come in” nonsense with great food and a fun atmosphere where you feel you’re with friends. Pegasus we visited and loved the chicken with a mustard sauce, a relaxing atmosphere here as the owners live above and you really do feel like you’re visiting their home. And last but not least esparos, we stayed downstairs and enjoyed watching the world pass talking with the waitress and the chef who gave me great tips to recreate his food at home. It’s about a 10 minute leasurely walk into the town all down hill where there’s a beach, loads of bars and shops to spend your time but please take it from me, get a taxi back for €6 as it’s a killer hill after a long day in town. We hired a car from Orion opposite Pegasus, one of the cheapest we have found. It was actually cheaper for 2 days with a car than 1 day with a quad we hired elsewhere locally. We loved our visit so much we have booked to return this year. Don’t think twice, just book it.
Lovely days spent at Asterias
We spent a couple of days in Asterias Beach Hotel, our room was nicely decorated, clean and the bed was very comfortable! Big variety of buffet which was delicious, location couldn’t be better - easy access to Makronissos beach (one of the most beautiful in my opinion) and relaxing beach bar with nice cocktails. We loved our stay and will be returning next year
Bedbugs!!!!
Well what can I say. I'm still facing all the consequences from my stay in Asterias Beach Hotel. Unfortunately we had bedbugs in our room and even though it's been a week I'm still trying to get rid off all of the bites from my entire body. I noticed the bites on our 3rd night in the room and I immediately informed the reception. We did receive another room and "an upgrade" to sea view but to be honest if I choose "Beach holidays" in a sunny place with beach and the sea I only sleep in my room so I don't really care about the view. It's basically a really long story but I don't think that the issue was handled really well by the hotel staff. Having bedbugs in the room and be bitten all over means I will be scratching and trying to recover for around 2 weeks so sea view doesn't really cut it. On top of that no one offered me any help like ibuprofen or any sort of cream to help with the bites. I had to arrange everything myself. The location of the hotel is amazing, the beach, the sun that we had in November was really nice. It is a bit far from the city but I don't mind as I'm trying to escape from the big city so from my perspective the location is great. In regards to All Inclusive package I do even know that there is AI Premium. I was really disappointed that the sunbeds on the beach are not free, the big beds are between 40-50 Euro per day. The food was good I can't complain about that, the amount of alcoholic cocktails included in AI bit disappointing. I don't understand the concept of all inclusive and all inclusive premium. Usually it's all inclusive or not. Here you have 2 options but it seems like it will be going in a direction where there will be 8 different all inclusive packages.... Nonsense! When it comes to staff in the hotel it was ok. I mean there were people that were amazing and obviously those who were unpleasant, rude, dismissive and not helpful at all. The team in the restaurant were amazing, especially: Julita, Natalia, Olga, George (The Head Waiter), Sabine and the bar gentleman who was always really polite and was making a drink with a smile on his face (I'm sorry but I wasn't able to read your name from the name tag). Normally I'd probably give 4 maybe even 5 stars but because of the bedbugs I can't because I'm back home now and instead of enjoying my tanned skin I'm drinking calcium and taking multiple medication to reduce the itching and the redness on my skin after the bites. I think in this extreme situation (as it is for me) I think the response from the hotel could be better. No one from the management team contacted me while I was in the hotel and that only proves that they don't really care about their guests and this is something that really makes me sad because while I was sightseeing Cyprus I've met really wonderful people (friendly, happy, smiling all the time) and no one was trying to scam me (like in Morocco). I hope that Asterias Beach Hotel will read this and take necessary steps to improve their service because you've got everything that good Hotel needs (location and staff)
