Great Late Season Choice

Visited this hotel in late October 2022. Holiday was booked a day before we were due to travel and as a family we wanted somewhere close to a beach with a few amenities close by. Although have been to Cyprus on many occasions finally decided to stay in the Ayia Napa area for a change. This hotel is on the outskirts of Ayia Napa in the Nissi Bay area to be exact and first impressions were very positive. The hotel looks very modern with stylish lighting from the outside and the modern theme continues once inside. The rooms were fine all boasting a balcony with sea views though the nearest beach is a few minutes walk away. The rooms were also modern though a bit small and there is limited space for luggage/clothes though this was not a major issue. On this occasion we were booked on a half board basis and the food was plentiful with enough choices. The breakfast was fine and I would recommend the omelette which is made to order while you wait. Dinner was varied with different theme nights and honestly you never left the restaurant hungry. On our last day we had a late check out as we were not due to leave until 8pm and were given lunch which was also very good and the portions were very large! The late check out was arranged with the hotel for a very reasonable fee and overall the service from all the staff was extremely good. There were no issues and certainly no complaints. The hotel has a large outdoor pool and also includes a spa/gym area with an indoor pool which we used a couple of times late afternoon before dinner and was also very modern and clean. The hotel is on a main road but was never busy and as all the rooms face the sea you do not really hear any noise. The local bus to Ayia Napa & Protaras and the coaches to Larnaca all stop close to the hotel, while the waterpark and newly built (on-going) Ayia Napa Marina are within walking distance. There is also a supermarket opposite the hotel which is useful. The real jewels at this location are the local beaches particularly Makronissos. Beautiful light gold (almost white) sand and crystal clear waters. Apart from spending time here during the day most mornings would involve a walk down to the beach with a tea (or coffee) and just sit and enjoy the beautiful sunrise, perfect way to start the day. The sunrise from the hotel balcony is not too shabby if you don't make it down to the beach! Nissi Beach is also not too far away from the hotel. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Amethyst and are planning to visit again in the near future.

First trip back since 2019

Top floor room my 3rd stay here. Did two weeks here beginning of Oct with my daughter again. So pleased to be on holiday again . I last was here end of Aug 2019 with the husband . I did not want to go home at the end of our 2weeks so next time maybe 3wks stay! This time we had slippers in the rooms. Only fault l had was with our male cleaner he never smiled or when you said hello he just looked straight through you. We did have the bed made, bins emptied and clean towels and that was it.

The Hotel was very nice and modern the staff very helpfull. I would have liked to have had a bed side lamp found the spot lights in the room were far to powerfull. don't know how family's with young children manage. You will not have any milk left with the complimentary tea and coffee so if arriving late at night make sure you bring some with you,also only very small cups if you like a mug. We like to be able to walk to a pub from the Hotel. there are two pubs across the road which are very nice but both have football loads of tv's with diffrent matches on all night so great if you are a football fan. Food was hit and miss. Fried eggs in the mornig are not good . The cleaning lady was very good and kept the room lovely, towels always canged.
