Afrodita Bluesun Holiday Village is the best holiday destination
My wife and I have just returned from another bi-yearly visit to Hotel Afrodita in Tucepi and once again we both had a fantastic stay. We always find all of the staff very warm and welcoming, but this year the overall feeling was that something extra was being given by everyone within the Bluesun family here in Tucepi. We felt this year that we were really being treated as individuals and that every effort was being made to go the extra mile to make our holiday stay extra special for us. Every little extra effort was greatly noticed and appreciated! I must also point out, that the gardeners do a fantastic job looking after all of the many varied plants within the maze of gardens that engulf each apartment. A very well-deserved pat on the back to each of them for all their hard work with these botanical gardens and I'm already excited at seeing how they manicure them further for next year! Thank you Bluesun and please keep up the great work that you're doing in Afrodita!
No longer a 4 star hotel
It’s the first time I’ve visited Croatia in general so judging the hotels in the area is not quite my forte. The hotel staff were nothing but lovely and efficient. They even made sure we had something to eat when we got there due to us having a late flight. However the hotel itself I would no longer class as a 4 star hotel. Maybe when it opened it was 4 stars however the hotel has definitely not kept up with the up keep or it may have been due to us going out of season. The location makes the hotel by far. The views of the mountains are spectacular and with the beach literally a step from the back of the hotel, you really can’t complain. There’s so many restaurants, bars and shops near by. There is also a harbour not far from the hotel either that has some gorgeous boats. When we went there was a few activities available and trips to take to other islands, places in the area and even cities like Split and Dubravnik. The three pools there, one large and two small, are beautiful but will say very cold but that was due to us being out of season (so not really the hotels fault). The food was definitely a let down. Breakfast was 7:00am till 10:00am and dinner was 7:00pm till 9:00pm (I think). The breakfast spread was your standard buffet breakfast and couldn’t complain about the variety, however dinner was very much the same every night and wasn’t much to chose from. Wouldn’t say it was a 4 star standard. Our room wasn’t bad and had quite a lot of space. The door to get to the balcony was so annoying as you had to move the handle a certain way as well as position the door awkwardly to get it to open. The bathroom shower wasn’t very powerful either and took a lot to get to work but the rest of the room was absolutely fine. During our stay we didn’t have any issues and it was really nice to get away from reality. I would definitely stay in the area again just maybe not this hotel. 5 stars for the staff though!
Big disappointment
I haven't had such a terrible breakfast in a long time. Breakfast menu very poor and poor quality. Coffee in the brewery, rotten fruit and salami that smells - every day. Room 29 has an extra charge for the sea view, but what you see are rooftops and a bit of sea somewhere in the distance. No one has washed the toilet in 8 nights. You pay for parking, but there is not enough space, so there is a good chance someone will scrape your car. The only advantage is the location right by the beach and the big pool. But it's not enough for a four-star hotel.
