Fantastic holiday

May 2022 | Sue B

Went to Croatia Hotel for 10 days. Arrived rather late on Thursday evening, but restaurant still open and we managed to get a meal. Had a small problem next morning as water in bathroom was cold.Luckily we hadn't unpacked the night before. We got a move straight away to a new room which was probably better than 1st room.Fantastic views, wonderful staff all speak really good English and are so friendly in all aspects of this hotel.Food in restaurant was really good catering for all tastes. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting 1st class service and customer relations. Will definitely be returning.

Gorgeous hotel - few minor moans

Stayed here in May for a week with my partner and we loved the hotel. It is gorgeous and in a stunning setting - views from the pool, beach and around the hotel in general are beautiful. Rooms are clean and spacious and staff are lovely - very friendly, helpful and speak good english. The resident shop is expensive - cheaper to go into the town for anything you need. Only a short walk into the town but down a lot of steps and so if you can’t be bothered the hotel also offers free buggie rides down the hill very regularly which is good. Town has a supermarket, nice bars and restaurants and dubrovnik is only 40 mins away on the boat or 20 mins in a taxi which we would highly recommend to visit. Busier night life and gorgeous medieval town to see. Plenty sun beds around the pool, indoor pool and beach and get the sun all day, although the website says it is a private beach - it isn’t and people who don’t stay in the hotel come and use the beds on the beach which means there are less for guests. The on-site restaurants are also very nice with good food and cocktails and reasonably priced - we preferred the food in these to the buffet restaurant. Definitely recommend a night at the steakhouse. Food in the hotel is generally good however my only few moans would be in this department (although I am fussy). There is no toast readily available at breakfast and no machine for guests to make their own. The omelettes aren’t good - they put less than a teaspoon of filling in them, so you may as well just go to the scrambled egg. I appreciate it is half board however I do think a 5 star hotel should be giving you a glass of water with your main meal - all drinks must be paid for and the evening food is very similar every night with a lot of fish or meat in gravy. There also wasn’t a lot of entertainment, just a pianist at night, so you do find yourself going to cavtat most nights. In general though it is such a nice hotel in such a beautiful area and seems worthy of its 5 star status but I probably wouldn’t go half board again - but I would come back!
