Good but - be careful with room allocation on arrival
Booked the Royal Palm Hotel via Jet2. We arrived on a late flight, checked in at reception and allocated our room but we weren't told that we would be staying in the Royal Princess Hotel. The 'Royal' resort complex is made up of 5 inter- linking hotels that share facilities. Our room was very old looking - old fashioned furniture and decor - but the sea views made up for the dull interior (which was nothing like the photos on the website that showed bright, modern contemporary styled rooms). We had a very large 2 roomed suite with 2 large picture windows ( one opened onto a small balcony). The door to the main bathroom was completely stuck half shut / open when we arrived and should have been fixed before allocating guests to this room. This was repaired early the next morning ( before we had told reception so they knew the door was broken!). Breakfast in the shared dining area was busy & chaotic with cooked food stored in supposedly heated containers but was luke warm every day, watered down orange juice and poor quality coffee. We found out from a waiter at a resort restaurant when taking our room number we were staying in the Royal Princess Hotel. The bed was very comfortable, views from our room stunning and our room was quiet. The peninsular location is beautiful with a flat, wide pathway along the coast with regular steps down to the sea. Some restaurants & cafes along the path all with beautiful views. Lots of places to sunbathe along the coastal path. The Royal Hotels are not far from old city - 10 minute Uber taxi to the old city ( c.80 HRK / £9 ). We met with Tom the General Manager to pass on our feedback who very kindly allowed us a late check-out on our last day.
Simply amazing and highly recommended
We only stayed one night on a stopover on our way to Montenegro but we wished we had stayed for several nights. Ignore any older and out of day reviews that are not excellent. This hotel and its neighboring sister properties have been completely remodeled and modernized and are just beautiful. Our suite in the Royal Palm had the most amazing view of the sea and the sunset. There are so many pools, bars, restaurants, and beach access areas that you can get lost just looking around. And for even more variety, walk down the promenade and you'll find restaurants, pubs, and gelato as well as a sandy beach. Everything was top notch and the staff was super friendly. The fitness facilities have a lot of great equipment including weight machines, bikes, and treadmills. The pools were plenty warm which was great because we were there in the off season and the outside temp was 70 Farenheit. We highly recommend this to anyone looking for a luxurious stay in Dubrovnik. Big plus: It is a 10 minute cab ride to old town.
Fabulous place
Stunning! Fabulous vacation, hotel was very clean with lovely staff. We had a sea view room which was amazing. We stayed on b&b board as we wanted to try other places for our evening meals Local bus outside hotel which takes you to the old town. Lots of water activities with a short walk to a sandy beach.
