Botanico The Oriental Spa Garden Hotel is an adult-focused luxury hotel in Puerto de la Cruz, one of Tenerife's oldest resorts. The hotel has won several awards and is highly regarded for its environmentally sustainable practices. You'll be a stroll away from the La Paz district and directly opposite the botanical gardens, where you can enjoy a leisurely walk. Botanico The Oriental Spa Garden Hotel sits in private gardens, landscaped in an Asian style. The hotel has three outdoor pools where you can spend a lazy afternoon on the sun terrace, heading to the pool bar when you get thirsty. The hotel has four restaurants, so you'll have plenty of choice if you choose to stay on site for your evening meals. The spa area is at the centre of the hotel complex, and here you'll find two of the outdoor pools. The spa also has an indoor pool and a whirlpool for when you fancy some time out of the sun. You can unwind in the Japanese sauna and steam room, or you could book yourself in for a beauty treatment. For more active guests, the hotel has tennis courts and a driving range. In the evening, Botanico The Oriental Spa Garden Hotel puts on entertainment, or you could enjoy an after-dinner drink in the hotel bar.

The closest beach is El Lago Marti·nez, which is 1.4km away from Botanico. Playa JardÌn, a black-sand bay with a promenade and cafes is a little further but close by too at 2.5km away. You could either walk to the beaches or take a bus provided by the hotel. In the La Paz area of the resort there are shops, bars and restaurants for you to explore. Plaza del Charco, the main square in Puerto de la Cruz's old town, is 1.8km from the hotel. Here you'll find more restaurants. It's also a central point to start sightseeing from. The streets of the old town wind down to the former harbour and historic fishing district. Along the way you can discover hidden boutiques and cafes.

The restaurants at Botanico serve Asian, Italian and Spanish food in the evening. There is a fourth restaurant that's open for breakfast lunch. During your stay, you can order room service 24hrs a day. There's also a cafe serving drinks and snacks.

You can use the gym or join in Tai Chi or aerobics sessions. At El Lago Marti·nez, a short walk away, is an open-air swimming complex.

Hotel Botanico has a beautiful tropical garden with a nice pool area. All outdoor pools are heated to about 24 degrees (may vary during the day - depending on outdoor temperature). The indoor pool is heated to about 28 degrees. Around the pool area there are in addition to sun beds, even comfortable balcony beds.

Each room has a balcony or terrace and air conditioning. You'll also have a satellite TV, Wi-Fi, a safe and a minibar.

Nice stay BUT will not be 're booking

So we stayed here late November ....and had a nice stay....food was good ....room was nice and we loved the 2 pools at this hotel. The hotel spa was amazing. Staff were also excellent. The location was great as it was surrounded by a multitude of good restaurants. We did dine once in the hotel but was not really wowed with the food. On returning home we decided to book for 2022 and on looking at the hotel website... I was shocked to discover we had paid * 1000 Euros more*** than an Canarian person for our 14 day .. We fully understand during the pandemic when foreigners could not come to Tenerife that the hotel had to perhaps lower there pricing for the local market BUT now foreign tourists are filling up this hotel..... I am mystified as to why we had to paid a ridiculously amount more than an Canarian person for the same room. One thing for sure....there is no way I am going to pay 1000 euro more for a 14 day stay again...?,.......so until this hotel changes their pricing policy ....i will not be booking my 2022 holiday with them....... which is a shame as we had a nice stay

Beautiful gardens and good service

Sitting at home on a wet January day have finally got round to reviewing 2021 hotels. Was a regular visitor to the Botanico 20 years ago so was intrigued to see how things were now. Spent 2 weeks including Christmas and had a very enjoyable stay. Glad to see the hotel had retained its old fashioned elegance with some modern touches. The spa was a welcome addition, unfortunately due to Covid the facilities were limited, but will definitely make more use of when I return. Had a seaview room, which was OK, but a little noisy due to being over car parking and the service entrance to hotel . Also there was no sun on the balcony at this time of year. Would just choose a garden view as they were quiet and got lots of sun. As a solo traveller I like to have some interaction with the staff and am pleased to say that I was not ignored as in some hotels I have visited. Every morning one of the managers had a little chat with me, in the bar hall Ahmed always had time for some conversation despite being really busy. Sylvia on reception was also very helpful. There are a number of daily activities you can join in with and there is entertainment on some evenings. The Queen tribute band on Boxing Day night were great - more of that please !! All in all I had a fantastic holiday and would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to any solo travellers. The area around the hotel was lovely and I never felt unsafe out and about at night. Hope to return later this year - covid permitting !!

Disappointing holiday

We were a group of friends who stayed with the hotel Dec 27th to Jan 3rd. we were expecting a lot, since the hotel was recommended by another friend who stayed there before. We were expecting a 5 star experience. The experience was 3 stars max. The hotel is not managed. Everything there seems to be run out of good will and inertia most probably: 1. The reception is not customer oriented at all. Except one lady who is probably kind by her nature, the rest don't know how to smile. They kept us waiting to check in, while solving paperwork! And they seemed disturbed by our insistence to check us in after flying for 8 hours and driving one to get there. 2. The reception was actually useless all across. Except for buying tickets to the parks, which worked well, there were other occasions when we had to insist to get things done: for eg. the hotel was cold as heating was not working and we called from the room a few times to ask for a heater, which didn't come until we went in person to beg. 3. Room service is non-existent, they actually don't even pick up the calls. You can get food if you specifically again beg someone, in person, to take dinner to your child in the room 4. There is no coffee anywhere else except the bar. No coffee in the room and coffee at breakfast is instant coffee and they serve it with milk, even if you ask milk on the side. 5 The staff doesn't understand and doesn't speak English 6. There are no reliable services: we asked for shirts to be ironed they came back as wrinkled as we sent them. They FOLD shirts when they return them ironed. 7. The service at the restaurants is appalling. They forget the order (Papagallo seems to serve only if you have half-board?), they take ages to serve or they forget completely that you are there. Once, I asked for an ice-cream 3 times to 3 different waiters (there were 7 waiters and 3 busy tables) and no one even cared. 8. The breakfast is stale and tasteless 9. They insist to say hello everywhere in the hotel but if you ask them something, like to REFILL the used toiletries in the room, they seem to not understand a word. I had to ask a few times for someone to bring make-up removal disks (which had not been replaced), since I could not have gone to the pharmacy to buy, it was closed. It was 11pm, we had come back from dinner and the room was supposed to have been done. All in all, maybe our expectations were too high, but for 500EUR+ a night you do have expectations. Of certain processes, management, control of quality, etc. Of a relaxed vacation for us at least, knowing that someone cares.
