4611 reviews
Spring Hotel Bitacora is a family-friendly hotel in the heart of Tenerife's Playa de las Americas resort. All the attractions of the popular tourist area are within reach. Playa de las Americas is one of the most visited resorts in Tenerife and has a lively nightlife scene. The sandy beach of Playa del Camison is a short walk away. At the centre of the hotel is the outdoor area, featuring two pools surrounded by a sun terrace and greenery. One of these is heated during the cooler months, and there's a kids' pool and water slide incorporated into the second pool. On the sun terrace you'll find a bar where you can get snacks and light meals at lunch time. In the afternoon, you can get tea, coffee and cake or ice cream here. At Spring Hotel Bitacora there's plenty to occupy children, including an outdoor playground and an indoor playroom and games room. The hotel runs a kids' club and teens' club for ages 2 to 16. In the evening, there's entertainment for the whole family. There are restaurants a short stroll away from the hotel where you can enjoy some paella overlooking the sea, then sip a cocktail as the sun sets.
Playa del Camison is the closest beach to Bitacora, and is 750m away. This man-made beach is backed by a promenade where you'll find a selection of restaurants, cafes and shops. For a day of retail therapy, Safari shopping centre is 550m from the hotel. In the resort of Playa de las Americas you can visit one of Tenerife's largest water parks, Siam Park, or the Golf Las Americas course. The 'Veronica's Strip' area of the resort is famous for its nightlife and is a short walk from the hotel. For a day trip, you can head inland to Mount Teide, a volcano with hiking trails and scenic views.
The hotel has a buffet restaurant where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Water, soft drinks and local beer and wine are served with lunch and dinner. The pool bar is open during the day and the lobby bar stays open late. Room service is available 24hrs a day.
If you'd like to stay active during your holiday, the hotel has a small gym for over 16s and organises aerobics classes during the day.
The hotel has a nice pool area with two separate pools with stairs between. A pool is divided into a section for children (60 cm deep) and a part for adults (140 cm deep) where the water slide is also (about 30 meters long).
All rooms at Bitacora have a balcony or terrace and centrally controlled air conditioning. There's a TV with satellite channels, and you'll have Wi-Fi access.

Awesome hotel
This hotel is in a great location for families. We stayed as a family of 4; 2 adults with 15 and 8 Yr old boys half board July 30th - aug 6th 2022. The hotel is in a quiet surrounding in the evening yet 5 mins walk to Hard Rock Cafe strip inc 18hole mini golf and 15mins walk to the buzzin 18-30s type bars. The free Siam Park and Siam Mall bus is located at the bus stop opposite the hotel. Siam Park is an amazing day out we paid €148. Our 8 Yr old loved the Lost City waterpark and we all had a brilliant day especially the wave machine which is easily the strongest we have ever been in... be careful with little ones! Got a family pic for €6. As half board you are given a wristband (not card) which you scan to enter rooms, and scan for food and drink throughout your stay outside of your board option. We scanned for drinks at the pool bars and shows then paid the bill daily at reception in the morning to keep tabs on spends. This system worked well for us. The hotel pools are great. There are 4 slides and a mixture of different pools so kids have a variety. Kids are not allowed in the spa pool. The top pool next to the spa pool catches the sun first so we aimed to get a lounger there in the mornings. They run games within the pool throughout the day but staff are not pushy. There is also enough space within the pool or other pools if you don't fancy it. The pools close about 1830. There is a que for loungers from about 7.15am which are accessible from 8am and guarded by security. People really go OTT about no loungers. We managed to get 2 everyday after breakfast and only once did I que at 7.30am. You may not get ur desired one but by 11 there isn't a lounger in the shade and we often jumped to different loungers once people moved on. The food can get quite repetitive but so are 90% of hotels. U can't expect gourmet meals on a half board budget in Spain. Breakfast was fine. We rotated our half board so ate lunch every other day and did the same for dinners. So when we ate dinner out every other day we never had a poor meal. Average dinner spend out was about €70 with drinks. There is a McDonald's, KFC, Subway all within walking distance for any fussy kid eaters. Supermarket across the road by bus stop closes at 2200 and has a great selection of what you need at good prices. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The receptionists, bar staff and cleaners work hard all day and were still friendly and polite no matter how stressful their day was. The photographers within the hotel are also fab. We paid about €80 for a set of 12 digital photos and cant fault them. Rooms were spacious and clean, showers good power and no faults within the room. Good size Samsung TV and air con worked well, we left this on when leaving the room which was lovely to walk into. We stayed floor 6 facing the springly world kids park which our 8 yr old liked. Football, basketball, zipline etc. Good to kill time while waiting for other family members. Arcade by reception is clean and everything worked. I would not hesitate to stay here again and would even look at extending our next stay for longer as can't fault it or its location. Thank you Bitacora for the best family holiday we have ever had
Great hotel, would return
This hotel is great. The food was varied and good. Entertainment was typical but still good most nights. Clean hotel, clean rooms, friendly staff and good facilities. Drinks were nice and lots of choice. Alcohol felt watered down though. Location is good, not far from bars, restaurants and shops if needs be! Nearby beaches are nice and clean too! Couple negatives: the machines in the game room were all broke. The morning ‘sprint’ for the sunbeds when the gates open at 8am is laughable, but brits abroad yeh… Would definitely return. Great hotel
THE WORST HOTEL! AVOID
Currently at this hotel now and if I could give anyone any advise is to stay away from this hotel. Me and my family 11 of us aged from 3- 65 are having a terrible holiday so far. We are now on our second week and can't wait to go home. Hotel - lovely looking hotel pool area for the kids are brilliant however the sunbed situation is awful. Having to set your alarm for 6.30am every morning to get a bed is not what you want on holiday!! The pool gates are locked and guarded by a security guard. Each morning you have to que on the steps for over 1 hour which is dangerous especially when the security opens the gates and everyone runs at the same time. Pushing and shoving! Running across the pool launching towels just to get a bed! Absolutely ridiculous. There is clearly not enough sun beds for the amount of guest's they keep accepting and within 10 minutes of the pool being open the beds are full with people walking around still trying to get one. FOOD- now this is the biggest issue the food is diabolical. Not much choice at all and no themed nights. The food isn't hot and is very poor quality. very repetitive and chucked out in bulk. We have had to spend extra money to eat out as the food is so poor! Breakfast , lunch and Dinner is all the same. Room- lovely rooms we are on floor 8 pool view and the showers are excellent. Hotel in general- really clean always see cleaners around. As a family of 11 we are very disappointed in this hotel seems like the standards have dropped and we're not the only family that are not happy after speaking to other guests they have all said the same which is a shame. We have been to reception every day since we have been here and they don't want to know. The hotel manager has not been seen by anyone since Tuesday 26th July so were having to deal with customer services who are useless. Communication is awful and we have been promised calls with updates now for the past 13 days from Andre's. The Jet 2 rep has agreed the food is poor after going down and looking at what's being served and has been trying to help but with the hotel being without a manager it's proving to be difficult. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone after wasting 16k as a family on this hotel. I will await Bitacoras reply to this feedback but I'm sure it will be just be a copy & paste job like everyone else's review.
