Spring Hotel Bitacora is a family-friendly hotel in the heart of Tenerife's Playa de las Americas resort. All the attractions of the popular tourist area are within reach. Playa de las Americas is one of the most visited resorts in Tenerife and has a lively nightlife scene. The sandy beach of Playa del Camison is a short walk away. At the centre of the hotel is the outdoor area, featuring two pools surrounded by a sun terrace and greenery. One of these is heated during the cooler months, and there's a kids' pool and water slide incorporated into the second pool. On the sun terrace you'll find a bar where you can get snacks and light meals at lunch time. In the afternoon, you can get tea, coffee and cake or ice cream here. At Spring Hotel Bitacora there's plenty to occupy children, including an outdoor playground and an indoor playroom and games room. The hotel runs a kids' club and teens' club for ages 2 to 16. In the evening, there's entertainment for the whole family. There are restaurants a short stroll away from the hotel where you can enjoy some paella overlooking the sea, then sip a cocktail as the sun sets.

Playa del Camison is the closest beach to Bitacora, and is 750m away. This man-made beach is backed by a promenade where you'll find a selection of restaurants, cafes and shops. For a day of retail therapy, Safari shopping centre is 550m from the hotel. In the resort of Playa de las Americas you can visit one of Tenerife's largest water parks, Siam Park, or the Golf Las Americas course. The 'Veronica's Strip' area of the resort is famous for its nightlife and is a short walk from the hotel. For a day trip, you can head inland to Mount Teide, a volcano with hiking trails and scenic views.

The hotel has a buffet restaurant where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Water, soft drinks and local beer and wine are served with lunch and dinner. The pool bar is open during the day and the lobby bar stays open late. Room service is available 24hrs a day.

If you'd like to stay active during your holiday, the hotel has a small gym for over 16s and organises aerobics classes during the day.

The hotel has a nice pool area with two separate pools with stairs between. A pool is divided into a section for children (60 cm deep) and a part for adults (140 cm deep) where the water slide is also (about 30 meters long).

All rooms at Bitacora have a balcony or terrace and centrally controlled air conditioning. There's a TV with satellite channels, and you'll have Wi-Fi access.

Brilliant family holiday

Stayed from 24/12 to 5/1 , we had ocean terraces 612 and 642 which had the best views in Las Americas. The hotel has been revitalised with a modern fresh taste, all the staff and animation team work so hard to ensure all guests have a great time , a special mention to Anna and Luci at reception who are very helpful and a credit to the hotel, The resturant food has improved slightly from my last visit pre/covid ,and the entertainment is still low key, but taken these things into account , the good things out weigh these minor issues, thanks again Bitacora No 1

Are the changes for the better!

I’m just back from spending Christmas and New Year at the Bitacora, cannot fault the hotel especially the renovations BUT what has happened to the entertainment team. Shocking and needing replaced! We normally visit in the Summer and have done for years but with Covid we’ve missed a couple of holidays. The pool area is stunning with an added stage and sound system BUT with the same music belting out morning and afternoon it’s certainly not enjoyable or relaxing. The entertainment team I believe are professional dancers which on their own are watchable but together as a group in a show are terrible, timing is out and it’s a hard watch. Regular customers of the hotel don’t just return for the hotel, entertainment team has always been an added bonus but I’m afraid this year it was anything but. Back in the summer this year so hopefully the entertainment team has been replaced by the old crew.

Be careful.

Poor quality rooms. Laminate flooring, twin beds, no toiletries provided apart from a body wash. Whatever you ask, the reception team answer is “ no” Not sure how this hotel is a 4 star hotel. Gym was never cleaned! I had to give up after being there twice. The only lifesaver is the food. However, for dinners, they don’t even provide water if you are half board. You have to buy an overpriced bottle of water from them as you can’t bring your own! Never seen this policy before! Drinks given in small glasses & overpriced. In 7 days, saw atleast 7-8 people having argument with reception team over poor quality services. Pool areas extremely busy, if you reach the pool area by 730, no loungers left! Steam / sauna closed! Spa is average. Thing again before booking this hotel again a value for the money paid is extremely poor. No covid precautions apart from masks.
