Marola-Portosin is an apartment hotel in the popular tourist resort of Playa de las Americas on Tenerife. The hotel is on the island's south coast, looks out towards the Atlantic Ocean and is a short walk from Playa de Las Vistas Beach. It has whitewashed, traditional Spanish exteriors and a marble-floored reception. The hotel has two outdoor swimming pools, and one has a dedicated kids' section. There's a poolside bar with an outdoor seating area where you can relax with a drink. At Marola-Portosin, Wi-Fi is available in all public areas. Reception is open 24 hours a day. Playa de Las Vistas has a Blue Flag award for its cleanliness. The half-moon-shaped beach is protected by breakwaters at each end. Here, the generally calm Atlantic waters make it well suited to families and a popular spot for swimming. You'll also find a number of bars and restaurants along the beachfront. Within walking distance of the hotel is the harbour town of Los Cristianos, where you can explore markets and fashion boutiques or eat fresh seafood. The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife is known for its beaches, rugged landscapes and varied wildlife.
Stella Polaris Marola Portosin is 700m from Playa de Las Vistas Beach. It's in the lively resort of Playa de las Americas, which has clubs, bars and karaoke venues you can visit during the day and into the night. You can take a short walk to the resort's Safari shopping centre, 1km from the hotel. Here, you'll find local and international shops, alongside a choice of cafes, bars and restaurants. You can watch the live entertainment that's put on at the centre. There's also a water park in the region, a short drive away, where there are slides, rides and pools.
At Stella Polaris Marola Portosin, a buffet breakfast is served at the poolside bar, and you can enjoy daytime meals here. Within walking distance of the hotel, in Playa de las Americas or along the coast in Los Cristianos, you'll find plenty of bars, restaurants and supermarkets.
At the hotel, you can play a friendly game of billiards, table tennis, chess or football. You could also book a massage.
Lovely pool area which is divided into two sun terraces with each pool. A stairway between the terraces. Ladders and stairs with handrails down the pools.
The hotel's apartments are bright and airy. Each has a kitchenette with a microwave, a fridge and an indoor dining area, as well as satellite TV.

Good location, lovely staff
Just got back from 9 nights and have booked to go back again in April as we enjoyed ourselves so much. We were on the 3rd floor in apartment 309 with pool view. It had a good size terrace with sunshine from first thing to about 5pm. Only thing I was not so keen on was there was no privacy from your neighbours as only a low wall divide but would have lost the afternoon sun if there had been one so rather it was as it was. The apartments are a little dated but spotlessly clean and to be honest all we needed for a short stay. Beds were very comfy as they had mattress toppers on. Kitchen had a 4 ring electric hob, kettle, toaster and microwave. Nice cold fridge but no freezer compartment so if you like ice for your drink on the balcony you can’t but did not bother us. The room was very hot so we slept with the patio doors open and the ceiling fan on. The hotel as others have said is on the main road so although the balcony faced the pool there was some noise which came through the front door but it only bothered us the first night. Very quiet complex. The upside of being on the busy road was that most of the bus routes stopped outside including the number 40 the airport bus and ran until very late so good for getting into Los Cristianos or Further along the coast such as Los Gigantes. The sun beds were comfy and the usual dash for them when the chains were removed at 10am including people crawling under them. Hilarious and we had a great view of it from our 3rd floor balcony. We always got a bed when we went down later. The pool was lovely and warm. Pool bar was great and used by a lot of the guests which I think was due to the lovely staff and helped every one mix. They have a happy hour every day 4 to 5pm. Two beers for €2 but still really reasonable at normal times. Food there for a breakfast or snack looked really good too. Only downside for me was that the beer was served in paper cups which I did not like although at least they did not use single use plastic, just wish they had the hard reusable plastic glasses. The bar closes at 6pm which means it is not noisy at night. The maids have Wednesday and Saturday off and they work really hard to keep it spotless. There is a hair drier in the room. A safe which is €20 for the week with a €10 deposit. Pool towels can be hired for €5 each deposit and can be changed each day. You get the deposit back at the end. There are rooms whose balconies face the main road which I think must be a little cheaper to rent and must be quite noisy to stay in so I would personally if able pay a little more for a pool view room. There are two big Mercadona supermarkets within 5 minutes walk. One is up and over the road and one down the road and round the corner to the left which is where you can also find the steps to Las Vistas beach which is 10 minute stroll. Plenty of nice bars and restaurants close by but we had to book a lot of them to get the time we wanted, never had to do that before but you can still get in if prepared to wait. Betty at Dolce Vita down the road makes a mean cocktail and is so friendly. Beer is still €1 a pint down at the seafront. All in all for the price you pay it is a great place to stay with very friendly welcoming staff and in a good location. Can’t wait to go back.
My second home!
I keep coming back to this little spot, because of the staff. They are all kind, professional and friendly, so it feels like a big family. Travelling solo, this is very important to me - I feel safe! The hotel is in a perfect location for me.... Close to both Las Américas and Los Cristianos, 10 min walk to the beach and promenade and with lots of nice restaurants and bars close by. (Ardi is a must for food and La oveja negra a couple of doors up is perfect for drinks) I noticed on this visit that the overall maintenance of the hotel is not as good as it used to be (I spoke to management who were very kind and helpful, and I intend to follow up with them) I hope these running issues will be sorted out, because the staff are doing the very best they can to create and maintain high standards in all areas. I look forward to my next visit (number 14!) to my other home. Book it, you won't be sorry.
