Europe Villa Cortes is a seafront hotel that looks out towards Tenerife's west coast. It's a short walk from the lively beach at Playa de las Americas where you can sunbathe, swim in the clear waters or party in the nightclubs. The hotel has its own beach club with a restaurant and a bar. Designed to look like a luxury Mexican hacienda, the hotel features elaborate interiors, ornate furnishings and a bold colour palette throughout. It has a pool area that features two swimming pools; one is shallow enough for children, and one has a waterfall. Palm trees and shrubs line the sun terrace, providing a relaxing space that's intertwined with nature. Also lining the pool area is the hotel's outdoor bar, where you can cool off with cocktails and beers. You can relax in Europe Villa Cortes' spa, spending the day dipping in and out of its small pools, whirlpool, steam room and Turkish bath. In the evening, you can choose between the hotel's several a la carte restaurants, where you can enjoy meals in tiled courtyard areas, inside dining rooms or with a sea view down by the beach. Mexican-themed dinners are available to enjoy once a week.
The hotel sits in the heart of the Playa de las Americas resort, meaning you'll be surrounded by its shops, bars and tapas restaurants. This area also has six beaches to choose from, with Playa del Camison 500m from the hotel. The resort is known for its nightlife, too, with beachfront nightclubs and karaoke bars. The Safari shopping mall is 400m away. Covering a significant portion of the island is Teide national park. Home to one of the world's biggest volcanoes, it offers a variety of walking trails. If you're up for the challenge, you can climb its 3,718m summit, or you could take the cable car.
Europe Villa Cortes' restaurant serves breakfast as a buffet. Lunch and dinner can be enjoyed in one of the hotel's several a la carte restaurants, which offer international food specialising in fish and meat. The pool bar serves a selection of drinks during the day.
If you're after something a little more active during the day, you can play a game of tennis or work out in the hotel gym.
Villa Cortes offers its guests free sunbeds on the beach below the hotel. Balconies for a fee.
Each room has its own balcony or terrace where you'll be able to take in the views. You'll also have a minibar, a TV and room service.

Best Hotel
This Hotel is the best we have ever stayed at it was very comfortable but that is not why I write this review ,the reason it is because of the Staff never have we found a better staff in any hotel. Breakfast was superb the buffet had everything and the egg bar was something else also it must be said the resident director was brilliant any wish was given in a very friendly way . My wife had her 85th birthday while we were there our room was decorated and a bottle of nice wine God willing we will return.
Should be a 4* hotel
A very aesthetically pleasing hotel with a central quiet courtyard containing beautiful grounds and fabulous pool. The rooms are very spacious and kept very clean by lovely smiling people. It is set back at the end of the busy strip so feels exclusive and very attractive and safe, calm beaches are accessible by walking along the flat ‘Geranium’ pathway. The immediate beach has a very robust surf and a shallow saltwater pool where dogs swim and people dip. The private ‘beach’ area can provide chargeable loungers and parasols which are mostly taken up by the public. This hotel continues to promote itself as 5* luxury and we felt our tour operator should be monitoring some of the issues we came across. The customer service at front desk/concierge is patchy with some staff receptive and others rather nonchalant. The small touches add up to a 5* experience and sadly, these are sorely lacking. Lumpy pillows, thin towels, only one bottle of water per day, no hair conditioner, no full length mirror. Air conditioning had seen better days ( to be fair this was addressed on our arrival as quite noisy and remedied slightly - the ceiling fans worked well instead). We had requested a quiet room and due to my numerous gripes and niggles felt that halfway through the holiday I couldn’t complain yet again about noises till midnight and again at 730 am above our bedroom. At first I thought it was the lift but it was definitely coming from rooms above as if someone was continually opening up balcony doors or moving furniture. Ear plugs seemed to solve the issue. We were only offered bed and breakfast by our tour operator which we were happy to go with but arriving just after 8pm, it was obvious from the beginning, there was a problem in providing sufficient in house dining to the guests. We were told there was no room service or any bar food/snacks after 8pm. Breakfasts some mornings were a little chaotic, with tables not always cleared quickly to enable guests to sit in the pretty courtyard which had a nicer atmosphere compared to the rather depressing indoor dining area. My biggest gripe at breakfast time was no granola. I can honestly say I have rarely come across this before with any 3,4,5* rated hotel. There were bowls of soggy bran with yoghurt and fruit pre-prepared which I guess were there to provide the alternative to a granola dish. Please note we were considering moving hotels and spoke with our tour operator but wranglings over a small amount of compensation due to us from the company meant we decided to stay and to try and make the best of our experience. We loved lounging and swimming in the pool and there was never a problem in finding sun beds. We hired a car for the day and went to fabulous La Laguna, had lunch at a vineyard at El Sauzel, with stunning views of Tiede, drove to Puerta del Cruz and enjoyed the beautiful northern coastline. We enjoyed seeking out cheap and fabulous seafood restaurants and promenading along the Geranium Walk by our hotel and taking in all the interesting spectacles! The walk to the town of Los Christianos is lovely at sunset and the beaches between the hotel to this town are well worth seeking out. Many of the guests are mature (I am too by the way!) but I got the feeling they were happy with the quiet, faded gentility. The hotel is definitely resting on its laurels and looking at their margins wherever possible and probably knows there is little competition in this area. We had a good week but I don’t think it was down to the hotel other than the fantastic relaxing pool area. I have given a generous 4 rating, as the management were receptive to my gripes and appeared to listen but there is only so much the team are prepared or are able to do for a disgruntled guest. I also realise I am in the minority looking at all the favourable reviews.
Lovely hotel with a breakfast to keep you going all day!
I have stayed in a few hotels in Playa Las Americas but none are as good as the Villa Cortes. We had a sea view room with the most amazing balcony (thank you team for the room) The pool was quite busy so lots of towels were laid on loungers quite early but there was always room somewhere to sit. The breakfast was my favourite part of the day and the omelette chef was just amazing as he juggled so many orders with a smile and they were all pieces of art! The beach restaurant and bar are also worth a try! All the staff were friendly and we will definitely be back!!
