Great stay, nothing really to complain about.
The hotel was good for what it is and I cannot complain. Some reviews before staying left me and my partner a little questionable however upon arriving our minds were put to ease very quickly. Didn’t need to interact with staff too often as we were bed and breakfast, and the breakfast is very self explanatory so didn’t deal with the staff too often but they were always pleasant when we did. Floors 13 and above all have air con and the rest below don’t, would definitely recommend an air con (superior) option as the hotel can get very stuffy as it is, not sure how those without managed to sleep. The breakfast was fine, usual stuff you would get at a hotel abroad. The room was clean, could do with a lick of paint and touch ups but wasn’t bad at all, air con was great and kept room cool throughout day. The pool can be a slight let down if you’re looking for a big huge pool and plenty of beds, if you’re not down before 8am you will struggle getting a sun bed with shade / parasol. The pool for us was fine though as we went as a couple, good entertainment in days for kids (although the adults can get involved which was a good laugh) this included foam party in the pool, mini inflatable obstacle course and also saw some face painting. The pool area had yoga and spinning class one morning, and a dance exercise class which some adults seemed to enjoy but wasn’t our thing. The hotel is a mix of brits, Spanish and Germans so plenty of people to get friendly with if wanted. It’s a stones throw away from the beach and is only a 5 minute walk max. All restaurants down by the beach are lovely and all offer similar easy going meals (pizza pasta paella steaks burgers etc) so something for everyone. One particular restaurant I would recommend is Sol Y Luna right by the front down at the beach. If you’re going as a couple it’s hard to spend a lot of money even if you’re not all inclusive, most expensive dinner was around €50 but most dinners came to around 30-45 euro which all included alcoholic drinks. The strip by the beach tends to quieten down around 11-11:30 which suited us as we weren’t there for a party holiday. Ignore the reviews about staff being rude or tired, the majority of these seem to be people complaining about late night check ins, no one wants to be working at that hour dealing with bus loads of guests so I can understand if they aren’t the happiest of people at that hour. They work hard and the maids are very good, always offering clean towels even when we didn’t want our room cleaning some days as it wasn’t needed (no need to make them clean rooms if they aren’t too messy). We also had no real experience of noisy / loud guests. Heard a couple of doors and footsteps around 12am/1am but that’s expected with any hotel at a holiday destination as such. The only one downside I could think of is similar to others comments regarding smells in the toilets of the rooms, sometimes you could smell the pipes and it wasn’t the most pleasant of smells but tended to only be most prominent during the day, which we didn’t tend to be in the room for long during the day so wasn’t too fussed over this. Leave the air con on or window open and it will clear the smell as much as possible anyway and couldn’t notice it at night at all. Overall a great stay, easy going hotel with decent facilities (little shop also for essentials like drinks, ice creams hygiene bits etc on the basement floor). Would recommend for couples and also families / groups of friends looking for a hotel that does the job. Will definitely be happy to return and already considering this hotel for next years visit.
Holiday
Good location near to front promenade if staying go for extra room. Can’t fault clean and staff very friendly will be back again. Good restaurant at bottom of hill at roundabout. Also easy to get to local buses just up the road.
Avoid at all costs.
We stayed here for two weeks, 4 adults and 2 children plus other family members that joined us. We arrived about 9pm, reception staff were very pleasant. Having booked two superior rooms and a twin room we were given our cards and dropped our cases, the twin was a double, which two boys didn't want to share hence why we booked a twin. This was resolved by Ricky straight away or so we thought. One of the superior roooms was dirty and like a broom cupboard, ricky again said we would get a new room at 3pm the next day, not ideal. After going out for drinks we returned to find the twin room was still a double. Kids room sorted first thing in morning after waiting until 3pm for our room we got in to find the air conditioning leaking onto the sofa. The food was sub standard, veal stew every day and not much selection for non fish eaters. Be warned you don't get a drink with your evening meal if half board, as the manager rudely pointed out to our son, you are treated like low life's if your not all inclusive. Restaurant manager needs a customer service course and to learn how to smile. I could rant forever about this hotel. Don't expect any help from the Jet2 rep she's more interested in stuffing her face in the restaurant.
