Aequora Lanzarote Suites is on the outskirts of Puerto del Carmen, a short stroll from the beach. The hotel's whitewashed buildings are scattered around its swimming pools, and Lanzarote's mountains provide a dramatic backdrop for the gardens. The terraces are planted with mature trees and native shrubs, and there's a choice of places to sit and unwind with a drink from the poolside bar, including an adults-only relaxation area with comfortable sofas alongside one of the pools. Younger guests can enjoy the two separate kids' pools, one of which has a pirate ship, or swim in the shallow area of one of the larger pools. There's also an outside play area for kids to explore. There are three other swimming pools, all but one of which are heated, including the adults-only pool. If you'd like to keep fit on holiday, the hotel has tennis courts and a sports hall. It's a short drive to the nearest 18-hole golf course, or you could make your way there on one of the hotel's rental bicycles. Within Aequora Lanzarote Suites there are three restaurants and a selection of bars, as well as a convenient mini-market on site for holiday essentials. There's Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. The sandy beach of Playa de los Pocillos is a few steps from the hotel. There are shops, bars and restaurants at Los Pocillos, as well as a traffic-free promenade popular for evening strolls.
The beach at Playa de los Pocillos is 200m from Aequora Lanzarote. The resort centre at Puerto del Carmen is 2km away, and you can get there along the promenade from Los Pocillos. The town began life as a fishing port, and there's still an old harbour area with seafood restaurants. The 6km stretch of sandy beach at Puerto del Carmen makes this a popular place with families. Lanzarote's capital city, Arrecife, is a short drive from the hotel. This Old Port has two castles and a historic quarter, as well as a range of shops and places to eat. The central area known as El Charco, has bars and restaurants. You can head south to Puerto Calero, which is a short drive away. Alternatively, you can leave the coast and visit Lanzarote's volcanic mountain regions, with panoramic scenery and traditional villages.
The buffet restaurants, one which is 13 years plus and one for families, provide breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ‡ la carte restaurant specialises in Spanish food. There's a choice of bars including a lobby bar, a snack bar that also offers afternoon tea, and a pool bar serving drinks, snacks and ice cream.
There are two kids' clubs for ages 4 to 8 and 9 to 12, offering daytime activities and a mini disco. The hotel hosts shows and live music.
The hotel has several pool areas, one at each of the six buildings. There is a small water park at the kids' pool, featuring a pirate ship. The pool at building four is exclusively for swimming, and is not heated.
Each room or suite has a balcony or terrace. Inside, you'll find air conditioning, a satellite TV and a coffee maker. The hotel offers room service.

Enjoyable getaway
We visited in Feb 2022 for a week with our 3 Year old. We had a lovely week away. The rooms were lovely and modern which we really liked. We prefer a firm bed over a soft bed and in my opinion the beds were great. We had lovely sleeps on them and the curtains were really good at blocking out the light. The bathroom area was fine for us with a young child and my hubby just draped atowel over the door when in the shower although you couldn't see through the glass and my wee girl knew not to open the door etc. I wouldn't stay here with older kids though as you do need more privacy. We requested a ground floor at the kids pool area and this was perfect as I was pregnant and could come back and forth to our apartment with ease to go to the loo or grab things for my girl. The kiddie pool was perfect for our needs although we didn't have the warmest of weather so were not in it all day. I was chuffed to see a water cooler in the alcove next to the pool so we could fill our water bottles. Thats a huge positive as I didn't want to be buying big water bottles to carry up from the shops and the fridge in the room wasn't very cold so wouldn't have kept water that cold. We stayed HB. Im not so keen on buffet restaurants and although it seemed impressive at first it gets boring quickly when you just get fed up of eating the same things and eating lukewarm food. I don't think its this hotel though as I think thats how all hotels are that offer all inlcusive etc. We were just eating to fill us up and not for enjoyment. We walked down and had a couple of meals in the local restaurants which was a very quick walk and not to much for our daughter. The Spar was ok and cheap enough for ice lollies and booze...and they even had some non alcoholic wine for me to enjoy. The games room is rubbish for the kids as a lot didn't work but was better than nothing is suppose. The kids club was enjoyable although I wouldn't be leaving my child even if allowed (once they are 4 I think). Its just not safe enough, kids able to leave as its within the play park and people are coming and going and opening the gate and kids run out. Whilst the staff were lovely and it was fun to do face paining and making hats and archery etc.....whilst they do those activities they allow other kids to play inside the little hut or around the play park without supervision. I just sat at the side and kept going up and inside to check on my daughter which I was glad I was able to do. The Mini Disco in the evening was fantastic though. Its our first experience of anything like this so not sure to compare but 8pm-8.30pm was late enough for us and after this we were happy to return to our apartment. It was the same songs every night but that was good as kids like repetition and by the end of the week she was able to do all the moves and really loved it. We went round the corner after the disco one evening for the other entertainment....but she was tired and it's just not really our cup of tea to be honest. What else ...inflatables were left over by others which my daughter loved as she had a shot of some. having such a short transfer was perfect. Hiring a bike and cycling to the airport to watch the planes was fun. Staff were all lovely and I thought the grounds were beautifully kept with lots of plants and trees. We enjoyed a day at the beach and there were toilets there which was handy although they were not to clean. All in all it was very good. I wouldn't want to stay All inclusive though as I would be expecting more speciality dining like when you get 2 or 3 restaurants that you can visit during your stay for an actual freshly prepared meal. This didn't seem to have this. I think there was another restaurant apart from the buffet but it never seemed open when we were there. Hope this helps.
Definitely not 4 star
Restaurants We had to frequent the Poseidon every night as we could not get in the Don Paco (even though it always looked half empty) The buffet food was unimaginative, repetitive and mainly cold. We did not look forward to our evening meal at all. The desserts were the same every night and tasteless The 'Gala' dinner on Christmas day comprised of a fancy serviette and a glass of cheap prosecco on arrival. The dress code is not adhered to at all. It says no vests or scruffy shorts. We saw plenty and nothing was said. There was one lady at breakfast with denim shorts on with her backside hanging out. Disgusting ! If you make rules, you should at least uphold them Pool areas Towels should not be left on sunbeds to reserve them but this is done all the time and again, nothing is said The adult pool bar is only open in the afternoon so nowhere to get a drink nearby When I did eventually get a drink at the bar, I was given a Sangria out of a bottle which tasted disgusting so I put it back on the bar when I left. No one around to tell and get a refund. Captain Nemo bar This is the only 'quiet adult' bar to get a drink in the evening. However, it is not quiet at all as the acoustics in there are terrible. So, with only a few people in the bar it is very noisy, plus the bartender doesn't help making a racket making drinks. This leaves the only other place to spend the evening quietly is in the room. Not ideal! Rooms Why do you charge to use a safe ? It is very petty Why are there no shelves or hooks on the walls ? The tea, coffee and milk were never replenished, but luckily, we had taken our own supplies. No loungers on the balcony Sports facilities What a joke! One of the reasons we chose your hotel was the fact you have a tennis court. The first time we tried to play the net was broken and the maintenance man could not fix it for 2 days. 2 days later we asked again and 2 guys took about 45 minutes to fix it but at least we got a game. As soon as we left footballers came on and took it down again. You should not have a tennis court that doubles as a football pitch. Plus, the court is not the correct size and the lines are all wrong. The table tennis table is in the wrong place. It should be in a sheltered spot out of the wind and not under/near the showers We paid a lot of money for this holiday and it leaves a bad taste when there is so much wrong. The hotel is definitely not 4 star !
Hugely disappointed
My wife and I came here in January 2023 for 5 nights. This was our first holiday with our 6 month old baby and we were so excited for it. Unfortunately it really didn't live up to our expectations and ended with us counting the days until we got home. Restaurant & Food - so this place advertises to have 3 restaurants which is SO misleading. In a nutshell two of the restaurants are buffet restaurants which serve the exact same food - the 3rd restaurant is an a la carte restaurant which uses a lot of the same foods from the buffet restaurants so it feels just the same. Buffet restaurants - in all honesty this was probably the worst part of the stay for us. They serve the exact same food every single day. It's truly soul destroying. The food itself is really bland and quite "simple" - I'm assuming because they're trying to cater for everyone. But if you have a taste for flavour - you won't get it here. On the first day I saw a bottle of tobasco sauce on the counter and I thought phew - at least I can add some flavour to food myself. Unfortunately for me by the second day the bottle was finished and they never had any more for the rest of our stay. It felt like we were eating school lunches. It was so bad by day 3 we just started going out for food - in fact the best times of our holiday were when we went out to explore and eat. A la carte restaurant - Upon arrival we tried to book in at the a la carte restaurant and they were fully booked for the whole of our stay (I wish they would warn people about the lack of availability before arriving). Luckily there was a cancellation and we got a reservation at 8:40pm. I ordered the steak and chips - the steak was probably one of the worst I've ever had in my life and the chips were the same ones you get from the buffet. I've been to many a la carte restaurants in resorts and this was far from what anyone would expect. It's basically just a slightly spruced up version of the buffet restaurant. Room - the room was ok but we found it did get cold in the nights and morning. They don't have any heating in the room - just air conditioning. Kept on coming across mosquitos and the door wouldn't completely close so there was always a draught coming in. The bed is just a few beds put together so you can expect them to separate throughout the night. This made us super paranoid as our little one was close to falling in the middle one night. One of the highlights of our trip was going to be swimming with our child for the first time. It turns out the pool was so cold we couldn't even put him in it - this was such a letdown because we had purchased loads of little swimming accessories and toys which were never used. Lastly - probably one of the most bizarre things was when we tried to use the safe in our room we were told there was a daily charge for it. I can't exactly remember the price but I believe it was between 3-5 euros PER DAY. Now I've stayed in a lot of resorts and I have never come across this EVER - even a quick google search will tell you that this is one of the most ridiculous charges a hotel can request. We paid all of that money to stay there and they can't even let us use the safe? All in all this was a huge let down for us - we really didn't enjoy it and as mentioned we were counting down the days until we got home. I don't feel it's baby friendly and if you're into food you will be hugely disappointed. I really wish I had paid a bit extra and stayed elsewhere - lesson learnt for the future.
