Great Holiday. Shame about the rooms.

Just got back from a great week in Puerto Del Carmen. Generally no complaints about the facilities or food at the hotel. The pool areas and restaurant were clean and tidy. Good selection of food and drink. What really let it down for me was the room, it really was stuck in the 90's. I believe the hotel was built in 1995 and refurbed in 2001, and in the room i dont think much had changed since then! In general the room was a big let down. Modernise the rooms and this would be a great hotel.

A tweak here and there and it'd be perfect.

We have just spent 5 nights at this hotel and we had a lovely stay. Good points: Food. We both thought this was excellent. Everything we had was very well prepared and tasty. The salads were superb. Pools. There are 3 pool areas at the hotel but one of them was closed during our stay. We had the choice of a quiet pool near our room or the busier pool near reception. The pools are really big and lovely. Clean and beautiful. Always enough loungers and nobody reserves them. Grounds. They were really attractive and kept spotlessly clean. Staff. One of the friendliest hotels I've been to. Everyone was so lovely and the whole place had a lovely atmosphere. Cleanliness. The whole place is spotless and the cleaners do an awesome job. Location. Right at the start of 'the strip' but far enough away to be very quiet at night. It was absolutely perfect. Entertainment. We saw 2 singers and a bit of the flamenco dancing and it was all very good. Particularly liked the guy that did the Queen tribute, he was great. The animation team are also very good, they worked very hard and did a good job of keeping people entertained. Negative points: Our room was in dire need of a face lift. It was very dated and in need of a refurb. All of the chairs in the bar and pool area are also very tired. The bar and entertainment area are very dark from all of the old fashioned wood. Basically, the hotel really would benefit from some modernisation. None of this bothered us much but it would some people. Snacks. These are pretty much non existent. A few stale sandwiches, yogurt, fruit and cake. If you use the snack bars a lot on your all inclusive holidays then this probably isn't the place for you. We didn't care because we were happy to eat in the restaurant, however I know that if I had young kids with me, it would have been more of an issue. Can't comment on the alcoholic drinks (others seemed to be enjoying them though!) but the soft drinks were always fine. The usual fizzy pop, hot drinks and slushies. It would have been nice to have the option of alcohol free beer. Maybe in the future? Overall a good holiday. We would definitely return.

Well run & perfect for families

Just back from a week at this hotel. Family of 8 including a 1,3 & 9 year old. Food is plentiful, fresh and many things cooked in front of you at each meal time. Impossible not to find something for everyone. In between there’s sandwiches, fruit, cakes & ice cream - sandwiches can be toasted if preferred. Soft drinks, beer, slush & wine are on self- service but all others need bar service which is not always open during the day. Accommodation and environment are nipping clean & all staff work tremendously hard to maintain this. Nothing fancy about the place but totally functional and well run which is no mean feat when providing all inclusive for families. Animation team of 2 do an amazing job with adults and kids & the entertainment each evening was varied & professional. We would definitely return. Thank you everyone for helping to make our week a success.
