In general, the hotel was nice. A lot of entertainment and a splash pool for kids gave them a lot of fun. The room was very spacious. Only one aspect must be improved. Cutler's were dirty and sometimes meets was raw.
The Good, the Bad and the Thirsty
So, first things first: we (me, the wife, nearly 8 year old and nearly 2 year old) had a really nice holiday in Costa Teguise and that wouldn't have been the case if this were an awful hotel. It is not an awful hotel. Neither is it a fantastic one. I'll try to briefly summarise the hurrahs and the boos based on our experience of staying here from 24-31st July 2022. Hurrahs: - Our room was clean, spacious and well-equipped. Twice we had a problem with the sliding door not closing properly and on both occasions it was fixed within about 30 minutes by one of the maintenance staff (who are the unsung heroes of this establishment). One downside - the sofa bed wasn't comfortable! - The pools are good, especially the play-pool for kids. Our two loved it. - Lunch and evening meal are good. My seven year old's interactions with the dessert table were like Charlie at Willy Wonka's! Boos: - Check-in was poor. We weren't really given any information at all and had to figure things out as we went along. - Breakfast isn't great. The full-English option consisted of cold beans, fatty bacon, flavourless scrambled egg and sausages that tasted like they'd come from the 'Tesco Value' reject pile. - The lifeguards are a bit like ghosts that haunt the pools - you get occasional glimpses but they're so fleeting you can't be sure they actually exist. My 7 year old leapt into the deep end and started drowning on our first afternoon, and I couldn't do much as I was with the 1 year old at the time. It was largely his own stupid fault but I will be eternally grateful to the guest who noticed he was struggling and pulled him to safety - there were no lifeguards anywhere to be seen. - It really is a huge oversight that drinking water can be hard to come by. - Queueing times for drinks can be frustratingly long, and I agree entirely with other reviewers who've commented on the fact that bar staff are hard-working but too few in number. Overall? Not a bad hotel, but a solid entry in the 'could do better' category. Brief aside - the hotel themselves aren't to blame for this and it's probably not something they can do anything about, but it does leave an additional bad taste in your mouth when you line up behind someone in the coffee queue at breakfast who's proudly displaying neo-nazi tattoos. Can't stand the foreigners at home but more than happy to travel to their place and take advantage of their service industry? Idiot.
Awful stay- NOT 4 stars hotel
We booked this hotel as it mentioned that it was a wellness resort, however we have been so disappointed. Everything is dirty, some staff are rude, towels are not cleaned, very limited food and cheap quality. 2 of us had a tummy ache following the poor hygiene in this hotel. Very repetitive menus and extremely poor entertainment in the evening and during the day. Kids were bored and desperate to go home! The gym equipment is old and you need to come out of the hotel to use it! Local residents can also access it. Swimming pools are very cold. The last straw : we were limited to one bottle of water (0.5 l) per person per day and it was not even cold!!!Absolute disgrace especially as we booked all inclusive and water should be the main drink provided by a hotel! Don’t go there or you will be so disappointed! I am already looking to book somewhere else as I felt so cheated by this horrible hotel!
